Say WHAT!?!

Once again another template. I got bored with the old one faster then the last time so here is another stab at as much originality that I can get from pre-chosen template choices.

I had a pisser of a day. I had my introduction to what may be complete incompetence at my son’s school board. Just to be clear, I have nothing against teachers, (Love you Lori!), I have something against outright incompetence with regard to registering students. I heard about this wonderful program being given by my son’s school at his open house. Basically it’s an introduction to the formalized routine of school. It’s also really good for kids that are still not speaking clearly. After speaking with the Principal she recommended The Boy be enrolled and that it should help him and lot. I called two weeks later, spoke to the same Principal, gave her all of The Boy’s information and was told the registration packages would be in during the next couple weeks. Time went by to the point that I realized last week that the program was starting in two weeks and I hadn’t heard anything from the school about the program. After playing phone-tag with the school and the program runners for three days I come to find out that The Boy is not registered for the program. Not only that but the program is full and he now is locked out.

I am now officially PISSED OFF!

I call the Superintendent of our district and leave a very polite message about the fact that I’m irate. The Principal has screwed up and that I want to know why my son is being denied this program when it’s not his fault and what are they going to do about it. About three hours later I have the Principal calling me, telling me that she doesn’t understand how this could happen and that she is so careful with these details. I’m sorry but if she were that careful this wouldn’t have happened to us.
She then asks, “So your really keen on having The Boy in the class.”

“Well yeah, you recommended it to him and said it was designed for kids like him!?!” I replied.

“Ooooooooookay, I’ll call the program runners and see what we can do.”

I have yet to hear back from her and if I don’t hear back from her before noon tomorrow I’m going to be putting another call through to her and then the Superintendent again. I hate to say it but they have created “One of THOSE Parents”. Meaning I’m going to be their worst nightmare for the next 8 years that The Boy is at that school. I’m never going to assume they have their act together or that they know what they are doing.

Can’t wait to see how this turns out…..

sodrunksodrunksodrunk....

I am having the best weekend.  Lots of sleep, and lots of fun with friends Marshy and Vicki in Renfrew.  There hasn’t been much going on.  Work stuff, home stuff, J downloaded House season’s 1 and 2 so I’m slowly working my way through that.  I’m about ¾ of the way through season 1.

KCh. is out of town with work for the next week, then he is back three days, then gone for his vacation in PEI.  I’m sorta house sitting by bringing in his papers every night while he is away.

We have the babysitter booked for J’s birthday.  We’re planning on leaving at about 1 in the afternoon and going down to Sumerset for shopping in the fun grocery stores there.  Cheap Dim Sum lunch, dinner and a movie should make it fun for J.  For mine I have a hot stone massage and a hot stone pedicure booked at the spa.  CAN’T WAIT!!!

Last weekend was VERY busy.  I left the boys at home to go help my best friend move into her first house with her husband.  It was a long couple of days but very worth it to be there.  The first day was shifting the boxes and furniture from house to truck then truck to house.  The second day was me digging out her gardens and planting.  It was ROUGH!   The one garden that I spent most of the day in had been left to turn into the lawn.  I had to dig out sod and the base roots of whatever had been left in there for a couple years at least.  The second garden had been maintain pretty well so it was 45 minutes work instead of 4 ½ hours.  I added peat moss and even got three flats of annuals on sale for about 30 bucks.  I’ll add pictures once I get them from my Mom’s computer.

I’m feeling more then a little bitter that I don’t really have any vacation for the summer.  I have a day here and a day there but no long stretches.  I feel so tired and worn, but I only get three weeks a year so I don’t want to blow it all in one go and then be stuck if I need the days.  In four more years I’ll have earned another week of it through milestone years at work.  It will be nice ‘cause you want to save one week to use as one at a time, and then do a week at a time.  Oh well, I just have to get through the summer and then The Boy will be in school and then no more daycare…NO MORE DAYCARE!!!!  I can’t wait!  Not that I’m not going to desperately miss Sam, our provider.  Just that I’m not going to miss the cost.  $210 every two weeks will be ours again.  It’s going to be going straight to the debts for the next year.  Once we are dug out from those we are going to start feeling like we are getting ahead.

Ciao for now and will add those pictures in a week or so.

Let's Go Fly a Kite...*Mary Poppins*

I took the Boy and J kite flying for the first time last night! The Boy had obviously never done it before but I was shocked to find out that J had never flown one before either. I don’t know about you but to me that is wild. Kites were a big part of my childhood. My brother and I grew up next to a school yard so we were there constantly with different models over the years. Then again, he did grow up in Fredericton, maybe kites weren’t huge out there….Anyway, The Boy had fun with it until about mid way through. Then he told me that it was, “No fun, it go up, it fall down, it go up, it fall down. No fun.”

Try explaining to a toddler about the challenge of keeping it in the air.

Anyway, am going to be off for the weekend to Cobourg to help my girlfriend move into her first house. CAN’T WAIT!!! She has told me I will be lawn and garden girl! Am going to be weeding, cutting the lawn, whipper-snippering, etc. J and the boy will be staying home. J’s mom and aunt are coming into town for the Canada Day weekend, and J’s mom is staying for the week after. I’ll see them when I get home Sunday afternoon.

No vacation booked for the summer really. The Boy’s beginner school class took the one for August out. Oh well, I’ll take a day at a time when I need it and then take a week or two in the fall or winter.

Blog ya later.

Green Thumb!

I had a really good Tuesday night. There was a fire at the movie theatre that KCh and I go to so we rescheduled for later in the week to see the The Lake House. It was beautiful weather so I took full advantage and finally finished my front garden. The crusty thing was still in the position to hug the old deck. The pics go in the order of: before front angle, before side angle, during, and finished.

I still need to build it up with some more soil and add some more flowers to fill it out but I’m pretty proud of my first major gardening job done without my Dad helping.

And, yes, I'm grass seeding the front to get the lawn back up to the stones.

Ciao for now

YAY WEEKEND!!!!!

I don’t know if I have told my demanding public about my wee little problem. About once a month, thus this leads me to suspect that it’s attached to my cycle, I get what J and I call, “My little cloud of doom”. Basically I get majorly depressed/irritable due to nothing that we can tell other then it’s that time. So I was deep under the shadow of my little cloud yesterday when I discovered what can make it fly away: PURPLE TOES!!!!

It seems if I go out in the car for a fast drive with the windows down blasting Sean Paul’s Temperature and buy a new shade of toe nail polish it gets my spirits back up. Gotta love Sean Paul and purple toes!

My garden is doing really well! My beans are up about 4 inches, my lettuce is going insane in a green carpet, and my onions have finally started showing the little green tops. I still have to finish the garden in the front of my house but the weather is not cooperating. I’m not going to do it in the pouring rain, but I’m also not going to do it in the middle of a heat wave and get heat stroke.
The boy and I had a lovely moment today. I was reading under the umbrella on the deck while he was playing in his sandbox. I guess he got a little hot ‘cause he walked back to the deck and climbed into the lounge chair for a rest with me! Love that kid!We also got him is first two-wheeler! Another toddler milestone gone.
Anyway, I still have the residual cloud, namely a headache and lack of energy to do more the move my mouse around. Will post again soon.

Ciao for now!

YAWN!!!!!

Yes it’s the return of the “God –DAMN am I tired!” posts.  I’m soooooo fuzzy right now.  Just got back from a huge walk, didn’t get much sleep last night…or the night before that.  Work is going okay, my boss has been away for two weeks and is gone for one more.  Am going to try doing a garage sale on Saturday morning…we’ll see how that goes.

Anyway, just a quick update that I’m still alive…barely.

YAY 5KM!!!!!

The walk went great! It was 6 of us who drove down to the race. Four including Marshy, my friend Lori, and I. We kinda split up within the first 15 minutes or so. Breaking into two’s with the speed we were comfortable at. I’m happy to report that Lori and I came in at 56:48.2!We also had some great news come in on Friday. WE SOLD THE CRIB SET!!!! YAY!!! I immediately called Mom and got the number for the clearing house in my home town where there was an awesome sale on a captains bed for the boy. After buying it over the phone and telling my Mom and Dad about when they could pick it up I started dismantling the Boy’s room, starting with emptying his dresser into my hobby room. It’s the season where I have to go through his clothes, see what is going to fit him come next fall, separate the things that are done forever, and bring out the summer things from last year and see what will fit him. I had to take J and the Boy to Walmart on Sunday afternoon ‘cause not only did the Boy have almost no shorts that fit him, we needed to pick up his new bed set. He had the choice of Batman or what he ended up choosing…SPONGEBOB!!!!His room is sooooooooo CUTE! I ended up taking down a little shelf out of the corner ‘cause the Boy would have hit his head on it eventually. Mom and Dad were great and bought the Boy the matching night stand for a present.

THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!

There is also HUGE thanks going out to my Dad for other stuff. Not only did he bring up the new bed, put it together from truly asinine instructions, he ripped most of the front deck off my house and replaced the railing to make a really sweet platform leading up to our front door! He has worked like a dog these past two days in the heat and humidity and had it all done by this afternoon…in time to help me deliver the baby furniture out to it’s new home. Once again, my Dad rocks!

Anyway, I have a line on selling the old air conditioner that came with the house. Let’s hope that one comes through, all the cash we can get our hands on right now is appreciated. The tax payment is two weeks away, and my income tax return has yet to make an appearance in our account. SIGH!!! I called and found out it hasn’t even been processed! DOUBLE SIGH!!!

J’s job is secure for several months. It was coming down to the wire with the current contract expiring…the day after TOMORROW! He finally asked his boss when the paperwork was coming through and boy was he surprised! He thought that it had all been taken care of and that everything was fine. Meanwhile I’m hyperventilating in the corner at the thought of J being unemployed two weeks after buying the new car! Everything a-o-k for now.

Must go. Am sticky and hot and miserable…and this is in the office that has the working air conditioner. And if you are wondering I’m selling one when it is so hot here, this is the AC that doesn’t fit in any of the windows…the one that the yahoo’s cut a hole in the outside wall of the bedroom to get it to work. That one.

Ciao for now!

Long Post....

Huge post must be done. There has been so much stuff happening during the past week.

The long weekend went great in some ways and terrible in others. It was great in the way that my Mom and Dad were up, but terrible in the way that we were scheduled to work on our front deck. The weather was horrible and rained the whole time so it was a little bit unsafe to play with power tools. We took everyone out for a drive in the Max, went shopping in the newly renovated Independent Grocer, and kick my Mom and Dad's butt's in Sequence! J did his thing with the cooking and I did my thing hanging out with Mom cleaning the house. The boy had a fantastic time with Nana and Popa and was sad to see them go.

This was the Boy’s first week back to daycare since the cast came off. He didn’t want to get out of bed at ALL! VERY GRUMPY BOY! After I got him in the door he recognized the place and ran off to go see his friends. The rest of the week was the same except for adding in screaming at the top of his lungs every time I came to pick him up ‘cause he didn’t want to leave.

The boy had his first trip to the dentist yesterday. I was so freaked out by this. I hate the dentist and dreaded having to take the Boy lest he sense my foreboding. Anyway, everything went great. He did the entire appointment lying on top of me in the chair and had his teeth counted by the hygienist and the dentist with no problems. No cavities so he got his picture on the wall of fame!

After all that when I went to pick him up, Sam said that he had been having a very bad water-bum all day. He told me his tummy hurt and that he didn’t want to eat anything. We got him and and got some peanut butter toast into him with some Gatorade and that seemed to settle him a little. We then had the most awesome evening! J washed the Max, I cut and whipper-snipped the grass, and the boy played outside in his sandbox. I also took great please in teaching him how to roll down the hill of our front lawn! He had a blast! After I got the front garden weeded we strapped the Boy into the stroller and went for a nice long walk through the neighborhood. There are some major big houses just a couple blocks over from us! Bathtime and Bed for the boy at this point.

After we got him into bed was when things took a very quick turn for the worse. Just before J and I were about to go to bed the Boy had a major croup attack. He could barely breathe he was “barking” so hard. We got him to emerg. just in time for the attach to subside and for us to look like panic happy parents. Joy. Got him home and in bed by 11pm and didn’t get to sleep until after 12am. Yay. Another exhausted day at work.

This weekend is going to be busy. Lori and Tom are driving up late tonight ‘cause Lori and I are participating in the National Capital Race weekend. We are doing the 5km and then going to the company catered event afterward. Should be exhausting and fun! Will post pics after I recover! :)

Ciao for Now!

The Boy and other business...

Oh well. After a half an hour of fiddling and choosing I ended up with the template that I started out with over a year ago. Blerg!

ANYWAY, the boy is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! We were out of the house by 6:38am and at CHEO by 7:50am. What a difference a half an hour can make in the traffic!

Here is the boy after just getting out of the car.

So to make a long story short: Check in, main waiting room, X-ray waiting room, X-ray, wait for the film to be developed, back to main waiting room, private waiting room, Dr. K. says everything is great, over to the body shop.

Here are some pics of getting him pried out of his plaster prison. He didn’t cry while the saw was working! He watched it and was apparently fascinated! There was some crying after the support of the cast disappeared. Lots of, “OWOWOWOWOWOWOW MOMMY OOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!!”. Otherwise, it went very well. he was not traumatized by the whole experience, he liked seeing the Dr., but otherwise was very happy to leave CHEO.
Back in the car and home.

After dinner I went for a swim in the tub with my baby and finally got him clean. Washed his hair and scrubbed a ton of dead skin off of the area’s that the cast had been in. He is going to be coated in skin cream for the next week to get the dry skin under control.

By the end of the evening he was standing on his own and saying, “Look Mommy! No fall no more!”. Just a note that we didn't let him free-stand like this by himself for a long time. He would have his leg randomly give out and he would hit the floor if we weren't there to catch him. He is still a little bit delicate and can't bend very well, but is otherwise a happy boy and getting closer and closer to being our happy kid again.

Will blog tomorrow about the new car!

Buh Bye!

New Templates...

If anyone has cuaght some of the new templates that I have been trying out...sorry. I'm bored with the red, tried out a couple new ones and the one that I'm currently on I just realized was the one that I started out with more then a year ago.

*SIGH*

Let me get this sorted out and then will do the post with pics about the boy.

Ciao for now. :)

Green Thumbs, Fingers, Arms....

All those years in the environmental club in High School paid off! It is now nine months into having my first house. I’m a rabid recycler/compost-er/garbage processor. I have been the thorn in J’s side about learning which bottles can be recycled and putting the compostables in the container for me to take out. I am quite proud of myself as it is, but I have been given another reason to feel puffed up with pride at my responsibleness.

Last night I counted how many garbage bag stickers I have left until the end of August. Our county runs our garbage pick up by the rule that you put out a bag it must have a sticker on it to be picked up. The ration of stickers for the year are sent out at the end of August and if you run out it’s $2 a sticker until you get the next years. When I moved in the yahoo’s moving out complained that they don’t give you enough stickers and that I would be taking some bags to work to get through until the next ration comes.

I HAVE ENOUGH STICKERS LEFT TO GET US THROUGH UNTIL MID OCTOBER!!!!!!!

I rock! We have been able to skip putting out the garbage because the can has been half full!

Did anyone else read the article on CNN about people protesting the wind farm because of the danger to migratory bird? Wind power is such an important investment into the world’s renewable “clean” power it's wonderful that companies want to put 170 windmills offshore at a time. Now some bleeding hearts are saying, NO NOT THE BIRDIES!!!!!

Well…yeah I guess they are important and a part of the environment too. But at the end of the article it mentions that people in Cape Cod are protesting a 130 windmill farm off the coast because they will be “unsightly”. I can be legitimately pissed at THEM!!!!!

Ciao for Now,

Ps – ONE MORE SLEEP 'TIL THE BOY IS FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Pps – Stay tuned to the post about J and my’s NEW CAR!!!!! The Neon has pretty much died so we go to pick up the new one on Wednesday! Will post picture and story then. To quote-eth the Raevyn, “SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE” (

ARG! *YAWN*

So frickin’ tired! The Boy was up five and six time the night before last with a bad tummy so we went into last night already tired. We stayed up until the first Wah at about 11:30 and then it was lights out for me. Funny thing was J was watching a B-ball game next to me in bed. Under the sounds of the game I could here this rhythm that wouldn’t stop! I got him to mute the game…there is someone in a camper blasting the radio next door in their driveway! I’m like, whatever, and fell asleep ‘cause I was exhausted. The Boy has his next Wah at 2:38, we get him settled and then it’s time to go back to sleep right? WRONG! The IDIOT in the camper still has the stereo going! It’s now 3AM in with the window closed you can still hear the bass! So, I call the cops. This is a noise violation and just plain rude. Place the call at 3am and they say they will be there soon. 4AM comes and the music is still going!!! WTF!?! I get back on the phone to the OPP and they have in their notes that someone was by and the lights in the camper was off and the music turned down! Once again, WTF!?! I grab the cordless and take it into our bedroom and put it up to the open window and ask the dispatcher if that sounded like turned down!?! He pauses and says, “Yeah…I can hear it. Can you hear that from the front of the house?”, so I put on my coat and stand next to my front porch outside and say yeah I can still hear it. I go inside and wait at the front door to see the cruiser pull up and an officer get out. I go back to bed at this point ‘cause I can hear him hammering on the camper door. Cue the music going off at 4:20 in the morning. With all the goings on I don’t get back to sleep until WAY after 5am and my alarm goes off at 6:23.

Yippee. Start of a new day of hellishly tired.

All I have to say is if Dude is pissed that we called the cops and comes over to say anything he is going to get more then an earful.

*grumble grumble*

Sigh...Double Sigh...

I am so tired of having a broken son. He pooped on the carpet again. The first time he did it in his room and it nearly stopped my heart. It was everywhere!!! On all his blankets, on him, rubbed into the floor…ARG!!!

This time though it was MY CARPET! My extra-thick-pile-more-expensive-then-the-rest-of-the-house-for-my-bedoom
-PURE-WHITE-CARPET!!!! He pooped in his diaper, then said to himself, “Well, that’s done.” Then took it off! I didn’t see this, J told me about it when he called me. Thank GOD the carpet cleaners were already out in our neck of the woods yesterday. If they hadn’t been it would have been next Thursday before they could have come out. Everything is cleaned up. They even gave the spot in the Boy’s room another shot ‘cause there was a micro bit of a stain left. So that’s $120 in on week for carpet cleaning. I mean hey, it’s not like J and I are under some financial stress right now…Oh wait, WE ARE!!! * smacking forehead with palm*

Other then that we are doing fine. KCh. came out to the house two nights ago so the Boy could meet his new puppy, Charlie.

OH MY GOD is this thing CUTE!!!!! The boy has totally fallen in love with her. The next morning the first words out of his mouth was, “Go see puppy?”. I am totally hungering for a pet right now, but it is so not the right time for the expense. And NO BLACKFISH DOESN’T COUNT!!! He’s in a bowl for crying out loud! Charlie is also completely imprinted on KCh.! The way you see her in the picture is how she is 90% of the time, on his feet!

Eleven more sleeps to go 'til no more broken boy.

Blog ya later.

Blog Hijack

Hi, it's the husband. I've h4x0r3d the wife's site to show that like most self-respecting people, I don't listen to her dance music. /shudder

YAAAAWN!!!!! *Head cracking in half like the "Reach" cartoon guy...*

Holy CRAP am I tired. The Boy has caught a cold on top of still having two weeks left in the cast. He is being dosed with cold medication as well as having Vic’s vaporub on his chest. He is back to being up 5-6 times a night due to not being able to breathe. Otherwise he is happy. We have taken him for a walk in the wheel chair every night for the past 4 days. I am in the middle of YARD WARS with the dandelion population in the back yard, so he has been coming out on a blanket next to me. He “helps” me by wanting to use the weeder tool and points out the next weed to get. By the time I just dumped the last bucket o’ pulled weeds I have a 90% full full-sized garbage can. The depressing thing is that I have only gotten started. The friggin’ yard is overrun with weeds. I will be fighting them all summer just to make sure next year is not a total loss. I have had many people recommend that I just re-till the whole yard and start from scratch, but even if there are weeds The Boy can play back there. If it is all dirt he cannot play there. Once again laundry has suffered in favour of my playing in the yard. To my husband and his grumpy face about having wrinkly shirts, to him I say, “TOUGH BEANS!!!”. To any of you who have the link to my sweetie’s food blog, go check it out. He just did a posting about stuffed peppers that he did on the BBQ! VERY YUMMY!!!!

We just had the bomb drop about taxes again. FSKING TAXES!!! Every year because J is a contract worker we feel like we are punished for making money! J made more money then we thought this past year so we ended up owing another thousand. A nice little present! :(

Oh well. Let’s focus on the positives that are happening. The boy is out of prison in two weeks (from Tuesday), we have an air conditioner, we have a house, we are all healthy (I’m talking about cancer and nasty stuff like that. Cold’s don’t count.), and most of all no matter how many crappy things get thrown at us I will always have my Sweetie! :)

Here is a pic from our recent trip to Fulton’s Sugarbush with my team.

NUNNY LIIIIIIIIIIVES!!!!!

The boy glommed onto this stuffed montrosity when he was 8 months old. If you could only see the rotting, patched, sewn-up Frankenstein he is today! :)

Found this on Raevyn's site! Found it totally fun!
