OMG yawn!
The entire day I was really good on my points. Packed a bag before leaving with bottles of water, apples and cranberries. It saved us BIG TIME when we were out and about and not wanting to stop. Had salad at Harvey's while J and the Monster chowed down on burgers and onion rings. That one hurt, but I still have 2 points left right now, so I'm guess it was a good decision? Need to walk a bit on the treadmill and start breaking in the new shoes.
The monster is sick with a sore throat and fever. He is refusing to take medicine right now so I'm not giving him any sympathy. There is nothing I can to for him to get him to feel better unless he is willing to down some syrup. Don't cry to me at midnight. ARG!
Need to get laundry started. Raiding tomorrow night with Vanguard so will have to have everything done and taken care of by 7pm. I'm off to be usefull.
Ciao for now.

F-F-F-Friday!
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. We are scheduled to go into town shopping and get a family portrait done. Don't ask me why, but both mother's want J and I to get it done and that be our present. Whatever. It's a picture. We take better pictures AND without the cheesy background screen. We're also going to be pants shopping for the monster, and going out for lunch. Pray for me and that J's patience holds. :P
Also, going to be continuing with the reno work in the guest room. I got about 1/3 of the wallpaper off already. The worst part about it is that the idiots that owned the house before us didn't paint the entire wall, then put the paper up. They put the paper DIRECTLY on the drywall and then painted below it! It's a major pain in the ass, but I have the entire day Sunday to work on it. Plastering up the holes is next on the agenda, sandpaper those spots when it's dry, strip the hardware off the room, prime twice, paint twice, put the hardware back, and finally move the furniture back in. YAY! Another DAD-FREE project! :)
Buh bye!

Weeeeeekend!
Last night was a big night for Ryan and I. I took him to his first Sens game. It was free tickets from work.
...
K, here is the story about the free tickets from work. The VP's got their heads together and bought a corporate box. Then they put the rule that they can only go to work people so they are given out only one at a time. Which means no one wants them because then you are hanging out with work people and not bringing someone you actually want to spend time with. So I didn't even want to go. Didn't email that I wanted a ticket...until my boss comes and asks me to get a ticket in my name for her. I'm okay with it. So I call and get it. Apparently two of my other co-workers did the same thing so that KM and her son could go. Next thing I hear is KM forgot that she has a date planned with her hubby and doesn't want the tickets anymore. I say I'll take them and use them as a reward for The Monster getting 5 out of 5 out of this week's spelling test. We have the excuses all worked out. One of us is getting the flu, and KM remembers she has the date at the last minute. The Monster and I pack up, drive to Home Depot to park ('Cause there is no way in hell I'm paying $11 for parking!), and walk in to The Bank. I get there and my boss is no where in sight. The game starts and The Monster is enthralled for maybe 15 minutes before he loses interest. Still no sign of my boss. I get The Monster through to the start of the second period before he is done and we leave. I get to say to the entire group of work people, great, my boss and two other co-workers stood me up for team building. :D Anyway, at least I wasn't upset about leaving early as the ticket was free. And because we were in a box there was a sink so we were drinking water instead of paying $8 per drink! YAY!
Anyway, I'm off to get busy with finishing up chores before going raiding in Vanguard!

CHARGE!!!!
I'm also getting the urge to do some home renovation again. Nothing huge or too expensive. I just think it's time to finally put our stamp on the guest room down stairs. The bed and mattress are J's old ones from his single days. The current plan is to just replace the mattress and buy a quilt cover for the old quilt. I'd like to step up to the plate and stript the old wall paper trim off and get rid of the mint green paint. The carpet is a deep rose color and isn't going anywhere so I'm thinking about a dark brown quilt cover and a light coffee colored paint for the walls. New blinds would be a must as well.
sigh.
Dreaming is always fun.

Weekend of Awesome!
Work is going well. I didn't expect to like having the office to myself as much as I am. On the two days that I have help it's nice to have someone keeping me company, but the days that I'm alone are great in that I let my inner hermit rock out. :)
My monster tried out Hip Hop classes this month. The first class was great, the second he didn't really want to go, the third it was out and out rebellion about going so I cancelled the whole thing and am getting my money back. He has fun while he is there and moving, but overall I'm going to to keep him in it just to fight with him every week about getting him out the door. Cash back on to the line of credit too so J is happy.
My boy is going to be 6 years old in a month and a half. It's very odd when I take the time to think about it. He used to be this lump that peed and cried and had to be rocked ENDLESSLY. Now he is running out the door saying, "Bye Mom! I'm gonna go to So-and-so's to play!". I miss the age of three. He was protected in house, he was toilet trained, he could play and interact with other kids and his own toys without help, could feed himself and had opinions on what foods he liked. AND he slept through the night! There are ton's of great things about his age, but I miss my munchkin. It's hard to use that word on him now that he is as tall as my collar bone! He is also doing well in school. We have had a couple 5/5 with spelling tests and his math homework comes back with great marks. As far as I can tell he really likes school, except first thing in the morning when it's time to get out of bed! :P

Good Weekend
This weekend has started out great! Had Mel and Rob stay overnight on Friday for dinner and a fire outside. Made TONS of food, but I was good and stuck to WW friendly stuff. I had 3 Margarita's afterward with Mel but because I was good with dinner I didn't feel guilty about it. The boy was a little monster and ate an entire rack of back ribs, half a baked potato, and two cobs of corn! Crazy, he ate more then I did. Speaking of my monster he had his first spelling test on Friday, and HE GOT 100 PERCENT!!! Totally awesome! I'm so proud of him! We are taking him out to lunch for McDonald's and he asked for a new Bakugan toy. Rewarding a perfect score sits pretty well with both J and I.
Tonight is going to be dinner with the Pierce's. Can't wait! It's going to be fun! J and I are bringing ribs, and dessert, and also a recipe that J made last night that didn't get touched, Potatoes Gratin. I also bought them a couple bottles of wine. I found out Tom likes my girly Wild Vines Blackberry Merlot, so I figured we could have a glass. The dessert I'm making is called a Cappuccino Torte. Basically, an Angel Food Cake that has been made with coffee instead of water. Add some chocolate and whipped cream. YUMMY...I hope?

Uber BLARG!
OMG I feel sore and tired. I did an awesome work out on Tuesday night, but holy cow I'm barely walking today. Anyway, to update:
-The boy is in grade 1 and is not so hot about it. Going to school everyday, plus tests, plus more work and less play equals, "MOMMY I DON'T WANNA GO TO SCHOOL!!!". Oh well, better get used to it, kid. (He picked out his own outfit. omg I need to teach the kid color co-ordination!)
-My monster is now officially registered in an all boy's hip-hop class in our town. It will be once a week and not on the same nights as my work outs so it's perfect. It's even within walking distance of the house so if I stay in town that night J can walk him over. The Monster is really excited about it! :)
-The car was in the stealership again today. One sensor for the air bag equals $545. Yay. This is on top of the $445 for the replacing the oil pan, removing the heatsheilds, oh yeah, and the $109 for the car rental for 2 days. yay.
-Playing Vanguard again. Am now a level 46 warrior and we are perusing the guilds to start raiding in the near future. I'm not sure how well I'm going to do at that. I'm a "play for a half hour at a time kinda girl" and raids generally require about 2-3 hours of focus. I'll try anything once.
-WW is back on again. I'm battling back the 12lbs summer that came back. It's going okay. I'm happy to be back on plan and feel I can stay in my limits. The one thing I hate about gaining back the weight is you lose 30+ off your whole body. When you gain back 12 it goes directly to your waist, thus screwing up the fit of all your pants. SIGH. Note to self to renew my acquaintance with my treadmill.
-Christmas and The Monster's birthday are coming up fast. Time to start planning.

Summer of DOOM!!!
Yay! The summer of traveling is over! It’s been a busy summer with a trip to Fredericton for the whole family, a trip to North Andover for J and I, and a trip on the train for monster and I followed by J and I going to an awesome wedding in Mississauga. J and I are on lock down for the next three weeks for the weekends. We aren’t going anywhere or doing anything with anyone. This should hopefully recharge us and get us ready for the next rush of busy.
I’m back on plan with WW again. With all the trips it was too hard to keep track of anything so I said it was a break and gained 12 lbs. I’m happy to be back on the wagon and it’s going well. Working out took a bit of a hit as I strained the tendons connecting the knee-cap to the quad muscle. It’s getting better but is still really stiff and sore.
As of this weekend we have been in our house for three years. Still love it! Lots of projects were completed this year. A new front door, new front porch, a new master bedroom window, the master bathroom was renovated with all new hardware, new toilet, painting and cleaning. It’s been expensive but lots of necessary things that come with owning a house.
The Monster goes back to school on Tuesday. It’s the big transition from Sr. Kindergarten to Grade 1. He is more then a little bit apprehensive, but that is to be expected with something this big. All his supplies are bought and his back pack is ready to go. We have also registered him for an all boys jr. hip hop class with the local dance school. We have struggled finding an activity for him that is local, reasonable hours, and something that he likes. Ever since he killed the skating idea he has been begging for “dance” lessons. I am not going to put him in ballet. I refuse. I don’t need him beaten to a bloody pulp at school.
Other then that, things are pretty great. Everyone is healthy and happy. Christmas will be here before you know it!

*POOOF* Lot of dust on this thing....
I figured since I'm home on a Friday it's time to do another random blog post. I booked today off as a vacation day to prepare for the INVASION OF THE PARENTS but woke up sick as a dog and am barely getting from one room to another without needing to sit down and breath hard. sigh.
General updates include my weight loss. I'm now at 33 lbs gone. I LOVE IT! I love being back in all my skinny clothes, including some that I had bought during my previous weight-loss that I never wore because I never got my body in the shape it's in now. I joined my work's gym and started going to strength training classes twice a week back in February. They were running and "Biggest Losers" program for 10 week and were letting anyone in the company go to classes without paying for them. I got majorly hooked. The bar bell that I'm now using has 34 lbs on it wich is pretty cool since I started out with 14. I can tell a difference in the fact that my body is shaping differently then the last time I lost weight. I HAVE PIPES PEOPLE! WEEEE!!!!
The food aspect is always a challenge. ALWAYS. I have days when I can say no to anything and not have a hint of remorse. Then there are days when everything is sucked into the black hole otherwise known as my mouth. Every day is a new day and every week I see success on the scale is a victory.
The Boy is great. We had his Senior K. graduation pics taken back in May and should be getting those back soon. He is going to be starting Grade 1 next year. FULL TIME SCHOOL! It's going to be a big change for all of us.
Work is going awesome right now. I'm the only full-time person left in a office of 5 when I was first hired. I'm overwhelmed right now but that is job security right? My part-time x-hippie was diagnosed with something this week and will be off for the next 6 months to a year dealing with it so I'm going to be getting another couple seniors in to help out. I'll get them trained on all the basic stuff and then keep the complicated for me. It's going to be fun scaring them by telling them there is a margin for error of ZERO. You file it in the wrong place it's lost forever.
I GOT MY GARDEN PLANTED THIS YEAR!!! Imagine that! It only took not playing an MMO game during the warm months. Although Age of Conan is being very tempting right now.....NO! Must remember the motto, NO MMO UNTIL THE SNOW! J and I both want to be out and about this summer. Enjoy the deck and the garden and go for walks, do volleyball and stuff. We've said we'll upgrade Berlin (my gaming maching) and Athens (J's gaming machine) in the fall and install Conan then. I have in my trough planters 8 herb plants, I did a flowering planter for "the pretty" and I did tomatoes, hot peppers, romaine lettuce, leaf lettuce, and green beans in the veggie garden. I'm having fun weeding already!
My dad and uncle were totally AWESOME and installed our new master bedroom window a couple weeks ago. We now have the ability to put an air conditioner there! WEEEEEE!!! No more hiding in the basement guest room during heat waves! We also re-did the upstairs bathroom in a light-LIGHT-lavender. It matches the existing tiles very nicely and we also patched all the house the last yahoo's who owned the house did. We painted all the trim white and replaced all the hardware too. New towel bars, TP holder, robe hookes and stuff. A little later in the summer we are going to be replacing our front porch as well. That should finish us off for home improvements for a couple year. The broken stuff will have been all fixed. The next BIG step is going to be replacing the side deck with a porch, scraping out and re-paving the drive-way, elongating the fence, and laying down patio stones. This is going to all have to be done in the same year for it not to look like crap.
Anyway, all systems are a go and life it good. Summer is going to be busy with us going to Fredericton in July, Boston at the first of August, and Cobourg/Toronto at the end of August. Should be fun!
Ciao for now!

10 lbs later...
Anyway, I'm loving my clothes being HUGE on me. I'm still not small enough to fit back into my old work clothes, but I can get the pants closed now! Just about 10 more and I should be back into the old wardrobe. YAY!
J is on plan too so our eating habits have really changed. Ryan has even slimmed down a bit since we started. He likes to say to me,"Mommy, I ate healthy ALL DAY. So now I want something NOT healthy.". Funny kid!
So, that's about it. No venting needed. No shoulder to cry on. Every thing is working out so far.
Ciao for now!

Yay for me!
Got a shiny-new digital scale for home too. We had an old "needle" based one that I could barely read. It has a lovely new home in the garbage can! :D
I've also started walking on the treadmill again. I had a night off last night but that is the first one since I started on Sunday night.
Blog ya later.

Ug...
My goal is to be in my nice summer clothes for this coming summer. I haven't been in them in two year. *fingers crossed*
Ug, going to go lay down. Finished vacuuming, sweeping all bare floors in the house and have the laundry more then started. There is maybe 3 loads left to get in the machines. I'm hoping to have some fun and try out my new running shoes on the treadmill tonight. Asics TR 240's! LOVE THEM!!!!

Blog Revival!
So I am putting some life back into my blog. Mostly because I have re-started Weight Watchers. I'm doing the online version instead of the "in person, go to the meetings". I need a place to vent, keep track of successes, failures, and most of all see encouragement.
So I sort of fell off the wagon last night. Once I had "pointed" out all the fun I found that I still had points left over in my extras. Just have to keep on the straight and narrow until Thursday. There is alot of comfort getting back into this. Routines that have been forgotten are being relearned.
Anyway, we'll see how this goes.
Ciao for now.
