Summer of DOOM!!!

Yay! The summer of traveling is over! It’s been a busy summer with a trip to Fredericton for the whole family, a trip to North Andover for J and I, and a trip on the train for monster and I followed by J and I going to an awesome wedding in Mississauga. J and I are on lock down for the next three weeks for the weekends. We aren’t going anywhere or doing anything with anyone. This should hopefully recharge us and get us ready for the next rush of busy.

I’m back on plan with WW again. With all the trips it was too hard to keep track of anything so I said it was a break and gained 12 lbs. I’m happy to be back on the wagon and it’s going well. Working out took a bit of a hit as I strained the tendons connecting the knee-cap to the quad muscle. It’s getting better but is still really stiff and sore.

As of this weekend we have been in our house for three years. Still love it! Lots of projects were completed this year. A new front door, new front porch, a new master bedroom window, the master bathroom was renovated with all new hardware, new toilet, painting and cleaning. It’s been expensive but lots of necessary things that come with owning a house.

The Monster goes back to school on Tuesday. It’s the big transition from Sr. Kindergarten to Grade 1. He is more then a little bit apprehensive, but that is to be expected with something this big. All his supplies are bought and his back pack is ready to go. We have also registered him for an all boys jr. hip hop class with the local dance school. We have struggled finding an activity for him that is local, reasonable hours, and something that he likes. Ever since he killed the skating idea he has been begging for “dance” lessons. I am not going to put him in ballet. I refuse. I don’t need him beaten to a bloody pulp at school.

Other then that, things are pretty great. Everyone is healthy and happy. Christmas will be here before you know it!

*POOOF* Lot of dust on this thing....

Hello my adoring public....all three of you!

I figured since I'm home on a Friday it's time to do another random blog post. I booked today off as a vacation day to prepare for the INVASION OF THE PARENTS but woke up sick as a dog and am barely getting from one room to another without needing to sit down and breath hard. sigh.

General updates include my weight loss. I'm now at 33 lbs gone. I LOVE IT! I love being back in all my skinny clothes, including some that I had bought during my previous weight-loss that I never wore because I never got my body in the shape it's in now. I joined my work's gym and started going to strength training classes twice a week back in February. They were running and "Biggest Losers" program for 10 week and were letting anyone in the company go to classes without paying for them. I got majorly hooked. The bar bell that I'm now using has 34 lbs on it wich is pretty cool since I started out with 14. I can tell a difference in the fact that my body is shaping differently then the last time I lost weight. I HAVE PIPES PEOPLE! WEEEE!!!!

The food aspect is always a challenge. ALWAYS. I have days when I can say no to anything and not have a hint of remorse. Then there are days when everything is sucked into the black hole otherwise known as my mouth. Every day is a new day and every week I see success on the scale is a victory.

The Boy is great. We had his Senior K. graduation pics taken back in May and should be getting those back soon. He is going to be starting Grade 1 next year. FULL TIME SCHOOL! It's going to be a big change for all of us.

Work is going awesome right now. I'm the only full-time person left in a office of 5 when I was first hired. I'm overwhelmed right now but that is job security right? My part-time x-hippie was diagnosed with something this week and will be off for the next 6 months to a year dealing with it so I'm going to be getting another couple seniors in to help out. I'll get them trained on all the basic stuff and then keep the complicated for me. It's going to be fun scaring them by telling them there is a margin for error of ZERO. You file it in the wrong place it's lost forever.

I GOT MY GARDEN PLANTED THIS YEAR!!! Imagine that! It only took not playing an MMO game during the warm months. Although Age of Conan is being very tempting right now.....NO! Must remember the motto, NO MMO UNTIL THE SNOW! J and I both want to be out and about this summer. Enjoy the deck and the garden and go for walks, do volleyball and stuff. We've said we'll upgrade Berlin (my gaming maching) and Athens (J's gaming machine) in the fall and install Conan then. I have in my trough planters 8 herb plants, I did a flowering planter for "the pretty" and I did tomatoes, hot peppers, romaine lettuce, leaf lettuce, and green beans in the veggie garden. I'm having fun weeding already!

My dad and uncle were totally AWESOME and installed our new master bedroom window a couple weeks ago. We now have the ability to put an air conditioner there! WEEEEEE!!! No more hiding in the basement guest room during heat waves! We also re-did the upstairs bathroom in a light-LIGHT-lavender. It matches the existing tiles very nicely and we also patched all the house the last yahoo's who owned the house did. We painted all the trim white and replaced all the hardware too. New towel bars, TP holder, robe hookes and stuff. A little later in the summer we are going to be replacing our front porch as well. That should finish us off for home improvements for a couple year. The broken stuff will have been all fixed. The next BIG step is going to be replacing the side deck with a porch, scraping out and re-paving the drive-way, elongating the fence, and laying down patio stones. This is going to all have to be done in the same year for it not to look like crap.

Anyway, all systems are a go and life it good. Summer is going to be busy with us going to Fredericton in July, Boston at the first of August, and Cobourg/Toronto at the end of August. Should be fun!

Ciao for now!

10 lbs later...

So I haven't posted back much because to honest, the weight loss is going...easy? I don't know why but I haven't had a week of gain yet. I'm now at 23 lbs gone and liking it. I usually do the strength training class twice a week and if I get a cardio workout or two in there I'm happy, but there are weeks that the cardio doesn't happen. I even took a week off and ate like a pig, didn't work out, and generally felt guilt the entire time. I lost 1.5 lbs that week. Weird.

Anyway, I'm loving my clothes being HUGE on me. I'm still not small enough to fit back into my old work clothes, but I can get the pants closed now! Just about 10 more and I should be back into the old wardrobe. YAY!

J is on plan too so our eating habits have really changed. Ryan has even slimmed down a bit since we started. He likes to say to me,"Mommy, I ate healthy ALL DAY. So now I want something NOT healthy.". Funny kid!

So, that's about it. No venting needed. No shoulder to cry on. Every thing is working out so far.

Ciao for now!

Yay for me!

I'm at 12 lbs lost now! YAY!!! I had some fun yesterday. I started pulling some stuff out of the "skinny" side of my closet and found something that FIT! WEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I also retired the big, black, winter jacket and am back in my pretty purple Nike one that J bought me years ago when were were first dating. It's helping out that J is on the plan with me. He is the chef so him cooking light for both of us is much nicer then me picking apart something to find the healthy bits for me while Ryan and him just eat.

Got a shiny-new digital scale for home too. We had an old "needle" based one that I could barely read. It has a lovely new home in the garbage can! :D

I've also started walking on the treadmill again. I had a night off last night but that is the first one since I started on Sunday night.

Ug...

Oh man do I feel like hell. I wonder if this is an iron deficiency. I'm dizzy, tired, overall not feeling good. Still getting work down around the house but I'm not getting behind the wheel of the car today. I'm three weeks into WW and heading to the 4th weigh-in. I'm 10.8 lbs down and as far as I know still going. I like it. Happy to report that my Mom has rejoined and that J is now keeping track of what he is eating too.

My goal is to be in my nice summer clothes for this coming summer. I haven't been in them in two year. *fingers crossed*

Ug, going to go lay down. Finished vacuuming, sweeping all bare floors in the house and have the laundry more then started. There is maybe 3 loads left to get in the machines. I'm hoping to have some fun and try out my new running shoes on the treadmill tonight. Asics TR 240's! LOVE THEM!!!!

:)

Sweet! 4 lbs gone in the first week! I feel so happy and comfortable being back on plan. Tracking food is working out and I'm staying within my budget of points.

Anyway, off to volleyball tonight.

Blog Revival!

Hello all!

So I am putting some life back into my blog. Mostly because I have re-started Weight Watchers. I'm doing the online version instead of the "in person, go to the meetings". I need a place to vent, keep track of successes, failures, and most of all see encouragement.

So I sort of fell off the wagon last night. Once I had "pointed" out all the fun I found that I still had points left over in my extras. Just have to keep on the straight and narrow until Thursday. There is alot of comfort getting back into this. Routines that have been forgotten are being relearned.

Anyway, we'll see how this goes.

Ciao for now.

Please send me a comment and I'll add you to my profile on Facebook. I'm there more the here.

Too-da-loo! :D

CLEAR!!!!! *ZAPPO*

OMG Somebody give this thing a jolt! Sorry about the non-blogging. Life has gotten so busy lately. It’s not even Vanguard any more. J and I have joined volleyball once a week, The Boy is in Swimming lessons once a week. The new TV season has started…and then when we are not doing all that J and I play Vanguard. Our weekends for October are pretty much booked through. Tigre del Jugo and her hubby Tomathon might be up for much eating and chatting this weekend, the weekend after that will be J and I going to our first pro hockey game. My boss paid for the whole team with their spouses to go to the Sen’s and sit in the “ledge”. Neato restaurant that is in the top level. You get the game and a meal! The day after that I’m taking the boy to Iams Super Dogs. Picture a stadium full of kids with dogs doing tricks to lights and music. My monster is so excited about this that he asks me just about every day how many more sleeps until the “puppy show”.

We are just back from an awesome Thanksgiving with my folks. My brother and his wife were there with my nephew. The Boy and The Nephew played their hearts out and love each other to death. Soooooo CUTE! After the huge turkey meal J got tagged to run with the boys while the rest of us played cards. In case you are not aware, J doesn’t play ANY sort of card games. HA! That will teach him! Once when the boys wandered up stairs to watch the cards I gave them each about 4 stories to get “Uncle J” to read to them! I’m mean! J

In other news, we are getting a new front door installed on the 23rd. I’m excited! The old one is the original and about 30 years old. The frame is completely rotted. Fifteen hundred dollars later Home Depot rides to the rescue.

Anyway, I’m going to try to blog again. No guarantees though. Volleyball is going to be starting two days a week next week so J and I will be switching off for Thursday night. Whoever takes the boy to his swimming lessons will be staying home that night while the other goes to volleyball. This should save on the babysitting money.

Sunday...and Sunny!?!

It is so weird to be sitting here seeing a bright happy day out my window. It has been half raining here for what seems like a week. It even got COLD last night! Not that I'm complaining, I love it when it's chilly outside. Good sleeping weather.

This weekend has been great. J and I finished "Kingdom of Heaven" on Friday night and then played Vanguard until 1:30am. Next day was Ratatouille with The Boy, J and KCh. The adults all loved the movie, but from the level of noise in the theatre the movie didn't hold the kids all that well. During actiony stuff it got quiet but there was enough of the plot that was straight talking that went over their heads so they were bored. There were about 4 families that left early. The Boy wanted to leave within the first half hour, but we made him stay as he has to learn that once you pay the money, you wait for the lights to come back on before you leave again.

KCh took off to the pet store for more Charlie food, we were off to Subway for lunch and then to Food Basics. J had a great time. The place is uber cheap, lots of ethnic stuff you wouldn't see in Loblaws, but I HATE IT! I had a mild to medium panic attack towards the end of the stay. Too many people, aisles too full of crap that hadn't been put away on the shelves, could keep track of J 'cause he was having the time of his life wandering around finding stuff...anyway, I finally said we were done, didn't care if J was or not, parked the cart in the line up to the cash and got the hell out. J popped The Boy out of the cart so we both waited in the car for him to get out of that place. I'm not going back. Not gonna happen. By the time we got home from all of this it was closing in on 4pm. Various gaming with the "F this game" crew, then bed...around midnight! :)

Today will begin with LAUNDRY! Oh thy most hated chore! Weeding the "garden" is also up there. I was going to do a veggie garden this year...time got away from me and it never happened. Now I have a lovely crop of weeds that have to be ripped out before they can seed.

Happy weekend!

Why won't blogger let me edit the title of the post!?!

Hey, I’m blogging again! YAY!!!

Nothing to report other then I’m so G-D tired I wanna cry. I love gaming with all my friends, why am I always the one who gets tired first??? Wah…L

This week is blessedly open. The only thing on the radar is Ryan’s swimming lessons on Wednesday night. He loves them so much! He is doing really well and loves being in the water. I just wish that when it wasn’t his turn he would hold still and stop wiggling around the way he does. He is right on the edge of the pool and I’m terrified that he will fall in and not grab the edge of the pool. If he grabs the edge of the pool he can pull himself out again but….sigh. Stupid worrying.

We are heading into another heat wave until Wednesday. I’m betting we will all be back downstairs sleeping in the guest room that night. Next year we are going to be buying an A/C unit for the bedroom….or maybe the year after that….It’s not bad during the summer except when we go through two or three days of 28 degrees that feels like 45 with the humidity.

Hmmm…what else to write…don’t know of anything that anyone would care about…Well, most of this blog is stuff that only I care about. So I guess I could write about how much I hate spiders in the corners of the house and there would be nothing you could do about it! HA! :)

*sigh*

I'm sure everyone has heard the term, "foot in mouth". I seem to live my life through this. Apparently I was gifted with a lack of filter between my brain and my mouth.

I would love to know how to fix this.

I would love to take back a lot of things that I say in the spur of the moment.

I would love to not feel like this anymore.

Don't ask, won't tell, just needed to vent...and apologize....

Day off....*happy sigh*

Wow, does this feel great! Slept in til 8am, have been up and playing on the computer for most of the morning, playing with a pile of new MP3's, dancing with The Boy, and generally relaxing.

This week is packed. The Boy's swimming lessons start again this Wednesday, Thursday night is dinner at my cousin's place with Gramma J, Friday is renting Epic Movie with KCh, Saturday is picking Melly up in the market and bringing her back here for Melly-in-the-country night. Sunday is free...so far.

My birthday is coming up. sigh. I'm going to be 29 and not happy. One more year in my 20's. On the mythic day I'm going to pull the blinds, shut the doors, and lock myself in my hobby room with a bottle...of water 'cause drinkin' isn't fun anymore now that I get hang-overs. :(

Hmmmm....that last paragraph was pretty depressing. Let's try for some happy!

I'm happy that The Boy is in his program for the summer, for the help with his speech, and for it breaking up the two months of being home with J. For J's sake as well as Ryan's frame of mind.

I'm happy that I have a happy, healthy, little boy that is currently pretending to be a frog and hopping behind me in my hobby room shouting at the top of his lungs, "RIBBIT!!!".

I'm happy that I have friend's who care about me and a husband who loves me...most of the time! :)

I'm happy that it's only 21 degrees out with little humidity. So comfy in the house right now.

I'm happy that I'm going to be going to Costco with KCh later today because a) Car ride, b) chillin' with KCh, c) gonna get a HUGE flat of bottled water as our house is dry.

That's all for now, what are you happy about?

Sigh...:)

One more day and my baby's first year of school will be over. I can't believe it's gone by so quickly. He has gone through several ups and downs with learning personal space with his classmates, learning how quickly he can be sent to time-out, and most importantly, how much he loves playing in the school yard. He will be joining up with the Stepping Stones program again this year. We are pre-registered so no debacle with getting him in on the first day. His teacher recommended it for his speech and letter recognition. He'll get Monday's with Sam until he is in the program just to liven things up for him.

Work is great! The boss is on vacation for the next three weeks!

J and I are still hooked into Vanguard. Not as hard as we used to be...or should I say, I'M not as hooked into it. I'm liking taking nights off from it to watch tv or do laundry...or God forbid, READ.

I'm looking forward to my week of vacation in Cobourg. The boy and I are going there while J goes east to visit his family. J and I decided to do this vacation separately just because he is going to have to work the entire time he is there. The last time we did this it was hell on the Boy and I so I said we weren't doing it again. The next time we all go as a family it's going to be a REAL vacation!

Time to go gorge on spaghetti! :D

Aroo?

What is this you think? She is blogging two days in a row after some pretty consistent neglect? It's because I'm up in my hobby room with the lovely cool breeze blowing in the window and I'm in enjoying my little computer away from the blue boy's room. I love my pink room. I'm also having an "I miss MyfriendANGERAH" moment due to the fact that she just threw a sheep at me in Facebook. :)

I'm going to do something totally weird and play a game of Worms World party.

Tuesday, June 05, 2007

Hey! I'm Blogging!!! :)

So let’s think on this real hard and I’ll come up with some stuff that is new.

Not so new stuff is that J and I are still playing Vanguard. Am up to level 30 and we’ve taken a break from leveling while we wait for one of out static group to level a new character. Harvesting has pretty much been all that we’ve been doing…and making lots of gold from the stuff that we have been harvesting! The weird thing about this game is I’m only playing it to spend time with the husband, I wouldn’t have gotten into it otherwise. BUT, I’m now to the point where I’m having fun! It’s mostly due to hanging out with fun friend’s while we do boring stuff. J has a friend who he has known for 8 years from previous games like this. He and his brother are playing with us most nights. Very funny guys and they make grinding on trees and blood howlers fun! They are driving up from Massachusetts to visit for the July 1st weekend. MASSIVE LAN PARTY!!!! Incidentally, they just adopted a kitten last night. I don’t know how but J talking them into naming him “Potato”.

The Boy is good. I took a day off last week to do Field Trip day with his class. It was to the Museum of Nature for the morning, and then to Andrew Haydon Park for the afternoon. It was fun, in an “Oh my God do I really want to do this again” kind of way. I was given my boy and another little boy for the day, while other parents were given three kids each. SO glad that The Boy’s teacher was so kind to me. It was hard getting them herded from one place to the next, and saying things like, “Stay together, Don’t RUN!” and, “We’re looking, not TOUCHING” a billion times was fun as well. By the end of the day I had a migraine so bad that I was considering making J walk to the school to drive us home. I toughed it out, got in the door, took three advil liquigels, and was in bed for three hours. The headache didn’t go away for two days after. So hurty. I’m taking bottles of pills everywhere I go now so I don’t let these get out of control again.

J’s mom was with us for two weeks, and just went home yesterday.

I’m on Facebook….ALOT! I love it! It’s fun to see daily updates of what is going on with a large cross-section of people. Email me if you want to hook up there.

That’s about it for us. The Boy is done school in three weeks. J and I have an appointment with his teacher for a discussion on his test scores on Thursday. He is going to be going to Sam for the summer one day a week. This should break up his weeks a bit and give him some companionship as well. Although I think that him and Jayden are going to be hanging out A LOT this summer. Little friends are cute!

OMG FMG!!!

Okay so the Warranty is a complete sham. They don’t cover environmental and the deductible is $100 so we had the dealership just fix everything. It wasn’t worth the inconvenience of taking the car to another place for the NINE DOLLARS we would have gotten. Also, all estimates were before taxes. $2227 went on the credit card yesterday. That was a fun 2 months of no credit card debt and interest!?!

arg.
