The first weekend of illness we still had our friend Melzini over for a “Weekend Away” in the country. She lives right in the market, in a beautiful one bedroom condo, and every-so-often we have her out overnight to remind her what quiet sounds like! ( J did his thing and pulled off about 4 Indian dishes. SO MUCH CURRY! ( The next day, her and I hit Walmart and Loblaws before taking her home.

This weekend has been without qualification AWESOME! First the Default concert on Thursday night, then taking The Boy with me into work to weigh-in (Lost 1.5 lbs!), going to the “Fun Zone” by the AMC in Kanata with The Boy for an hour of torturous working out climbing through the j
ungle gym with him. Got to hang out with Linda and Aiden too which is always a blast. Then Saturday I got to sleep in a bit before we were all out the door to go to the car dealerships to look over some cars. It looks like we are going to be going to the Dodge Caliber. It’s brand new out this year so we will be leasing, but it is a larger car and a hatch-back. After that fun we had some family fun by going to see Disney on Ice! This was The Boy’s first real test of his attention span and how he would react to that kind of situation. At first he was really scared of the huge room (Scotia Bank Place) and the occasional jungle sounds they were piping in (It was the “Jungle” series one with Tarzan, Jungle Book, and Lion King.). After the actual show started he was awesome! Sat on Mommy’s lap, sat on Daddy’s lap, sat in his own chair, watched intently, clapped when he was supposed to and generally had a great time! It was about ¾ the way through before he said to me, “Mommy home, eat!”. So we picked up and left before the crowds. We knew going in we weren’t going to make it through to the end, so we were proud he made it that far!Tonight is Sara and her Mom and Dad over for dinner. J is doing his Curry Explosion thing again to impress and I have my secret weapon for Y and T! I am doing Risa recipe for Polar Bear Shots! Take a bottle of Crème du Cacao and Crème du Menthe, combine, rebottle, and chill! They taste like peppermint patties!!! YUMMY!!! Only thing is make sure to use the “white” option of each. I could only find the brown cacao so my shots are not clear like water. ( Oh well, it still tastes the same!
Ciao for now, must go mop the house.
