Oh well. After a half an hour of fiddling and choosing I ended up with the template that I started out with over a year ago. Blerg!
ANYWAY, the boy is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! We were out of the house by 6:38am and at CHEO by 7:50am. What a difference a half an hour can make in the traffic!
Here is the boy after just getting out of the car.
So to make a long story short: Check in, main waiting room, X-ray waiting room, X-ray, wait for the film to be developed, back to main waiting room, private waiting room, Dr. K. says everything is great, over to the body shop.
Here are some pics of getting him pried out of his plaster prison. He didn’t cry while the saw was working! He watched it and was apparently fascinated! There was some crying after the support of the cast disappeared. Lots of, “OWOWOWOWOWOWOW MOMMY OOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!!”. Otherwise, it went very well. he was not traumatized by the whole experience, he liked seeing the Dr., but otherwise was very happy to leave CHEO.
Back in the car and home.
After dinner I went for a swim in the tub with my baby and finally got him clean. Washed his hair and scrubbed a ton of dead skin off of the area’s that the cast had been in. He is going to be coated in skin cream for the next week to get the dry skin under control.
By the end of the evening he was standing on his own and saying, “Look Mommy! No fall no more!”. Just a note that we didn't let him free-stand like this by himself for a long time. He would have his leg randomly give out and he would hit the floor if we weren't there to catch him. He is still a little bit delicate and can't bend very well, but is otherwise a happy boy and getting closer and closer to being our happy kid again.
Will blog tomorrow about the new car!
Buh Bye!
