Double Whammie SIGH!

I am so retarded about posting! I have soooooo much to cover. Here we go with bullet form again.

- The boy's birthday went off without a hitch. He is now officially 4. He also now tells e
veryone he meets, "I'm (insert name here), and I'm FOUR!"
- I have discovered, much to my chagrin, that I'm horribly allergic to Cinnamon. I break out into hives within minutes of her touching my skin. Raised white lumps or welts on a painfully itchy red background. We have switched her bedding to CareFresh from pine/aspen to see if it's the tree oils that is doing it. I also gave her a bath tonight to get any remaining oils and deposits off of her. Will give a couple days and see what the deal is. Am not totally happy about this. A) I love her to death and being denied touching/petting her is actually a bit painful. B) For 50 liters of pine bedding it's $6.99, for 41 liters of CareFresh it's $27.99. Granted it lasts twice as long and I have Cinnamon trained to pee in her litter pan so I just change that out instead of the whole cage, but STILL! :( and C) I get to watch J giving her tons of love, when he was the one who didn't really want a pet. I love my Sweetie for doing this for me. He takes her out during a basketball game and she just snuggles with him for about 45 minutes. She's not much into the game though. - The Husband He is keeping her people friendly by interacting with her, but I just wish it were me. :(

Photos are during traumatization of the bath and after, looking much more poofy then usual! :)
- Can't wait for Xmas. All present shopping is done now. I just have a ton to wrap.

- Our new winter tires should be here tomorrow so next week there won't be any more threat of death from me skiding off the road in SHITTY SHITTY SHITTY All-Season tires. Don't get me wrong. The Neon did great with All-Seasons. The Max we can't get in the driveway if there is an inch of (*@*! snow or ice on it! :(

Hold on, silly wife. You're comparing last years brand-new all-season tires on the light, small Neon to the 50% worn rain-tires on the heavy Maxima. It'll spin wheels much more easily trying to pull up the incline of the driveway for both reasons. Also, horsepower. The Max has 255 and the Neon had whatever a beagle with arthritis measures up as, so the Max will spin more easily because it wants to run. - The know-it-all husband

- CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MYFRIENDANGERAH IN THE NEW YEAR!!!!

- Am freaking because The Boy's feet surgery is scheduled for January 24th. This is the one to straighten them out. Nothing to do with his leg. We are looking at at least 6 - 8 weeks in casts depending on if they break bones and put in pins or not. yay. Another hospital stay before the age of 5.

Must go to bed and get some sleep. I'm so tired of the grind of life and work. Get up, go to work, do a job that nobody respects except those who are directly effected. I think it's about that time of year for the annual morale boost of the profit sharing plan! :P

The Boy's First Movie Success!

So the Boy was being really good this morning so on the spur of the moment, I called KCh to see if he wanted to come with us to "Flushed Away". He was down for it so off we go with "The Rules" being repeated about 20 times. The main one being, if you are a good boy through the movie we will go to the arcade and you can play ONE game. All went well! He sat either in his chair or my lap, I even got some hugs and hiding his face in my neck during scarey parts. There was even a moment where he took my hands and covered his eyes! LOVED IT!!! He ate popcorn, drank some of my pop and even got a major treat of a Kinder Egg. This is a major improvement from 6 months ago when we didn't even get through the first 5 minutes of "Ice Age 2".

The gate is now open, he is already asking to go back to see "Happy Feet".

Absolutely no painting got done this weekend. I felt run-down and tired the whole two days and didn't do much other then laundry. J shagged the pooch as well by barely looking up from his monitor all weekend. I have been a Neverwinter Nights 2 widow for about 5 days now. I miss being married! :( He did get the office and kitchen floors scrubbed and swept while The Boy and I were out.

Anyway, let's hope this week goes quickly.

My Sweetie is...

I'm a Rogue!

It's a good thing I use my powers for good and not evil, because quite frankly, I could get away with murder. I'm clever, tricky, and charming. I know how to make you laugh with one hand and pick your pocket with the other. Not that I'd ever DO that, of course...

HA!!! He's a low-down, double-crossing, foreclose-on-the-orphans-and-widows rogue TOO!!!! LOL!!!!

My Inner Hero - Rogue!

Hoo-kay. As my Hubby put it, "I'm not surprised! When we had our campaign I'm surprised you chose ranger! You lie, you cheat, you steal, and all you want is the phat lootz! You're not hugging the bunnies and high fiving the foxes!"

How about you? Click here to find your own inner hero.

UGH!

I't 7am on Saturday morning and it's dark, raining, and the house is freezing. I'm awake and posting because I was woken with a massive nightmare that I was just fired from the comfortable job that I currently call home. Frickin' dreams! I can't remember the last time I SLEPT IN on a weekend. Sure I don't have to go to work, but waking up on your own at the exact time that your alarm is supposed to go off is no fun either. Especially when your body wakes up and is ALERT! No slipping back to sleep for me. Just laying in the bed listening to my husband breath his normal sleep patterns. Makes we want to hit him so he can enjoy my misery too!

...except that he would probably just grumble at me and then GO BACK TO SLEEP!!! ARG!!!

Might as well go shower and start by washing the walls in the hall down. I have a lot of patch and fill work before we can even prime.

Went and visited the new baby last night! I wish I could take her home this weekend! :( BLARG! Oh well, it is for The Boy's birthday.

Ciao for now!

If anyone else knows the addiction that I’m currently living with please assure me there is a 12 step program that does not include ODing on these things! Especially since I discovered that they sell them at my local YIG and I don’t have to wait for J and my’s next trip to Sumerset!!! Oh the Pocky!

This week has been pretty not nice. I have been dealing with the monthly depression cloud of doom. It makes even the happiest things dull. Oh well, give me a week and I’ll be over it.

J and I have news! We are going to be adding to the family! Like water on stone I finally wore J down about getting a pet in the house that didn’t have gills and say GLUB-GLUB! On the 19th we are going to be bringing our new baby home. I’m going to be silly and leave you all in suspense until he/she comes home. Will post the pic then too!

Take the Seven Deadly Sins Quiz

So full of PORK!!!

Another fantastic weekend! I drove down to the market and picked up Mel. We got back to Almonte and ordered Chinese food for the first time in about a year. YUMMY!!!! The last time Mel was up we bought the chiminea the day she left. We promised we would have a fire for her the next time she came, so in winter coats, mitts, hats, and blankets we had a wonderful blaze. We bought the fire logs from the grocery store and I have to say they were so much more convenient! I mean we lit the ends and sucker was an inferno for the two and a half hours we could take the cold outside! I didn’t have to poke the fire once! On the other hand the other way is with the free firewood that you can pick up from the truss company outside of town. The fire logs were $3.99 a piece…anyway, it was a fantastic night! After I drove Mel home on Saturday I popped by KCh’s place on the way home. His dog, Charlie, was “fixed” last Friday and he has been having a hard time keeping her quiet. I took him out to the grocery store to get him some fresh air, he is on call this week too, and then dropped him off and drove home. Saturday night was just hanging out in front of the TV and relaxing. Sunday we were up early and got the Christmas lights finished. I started them on Thursday night to try to beat the weather coming on Saturday. An hour and a half on the roof in the wind we have been having was...interesting? We had to go back to the store to get a different kind of clip to finish and by the time I got back it was too dark to get on top of the ladder. J had to get on the climb up the ladder to install the extra clips to finish the line I wanted. IT LOOKS GREAT!!!! We won't be turning them on until after The Boy's birthday on the 28th of November.
I’ve re-organized the closet full of winter gear, replaced the shower-head in the upstairs bathroom, did five loads of laundry, took all the hard-ware (face plates to the light switches and electrical outlets) off of the hallway to the bedroom and washed all the walls up there. This is all in prep for painting. Next I went down to the bar and stripped it as well. I also popped all the trim off, got the pliers and ripped all the broken nails out of the walls, washed the walls here too, and then got out the putty and filled all the holes. After I help J clear up from an AWESOME dinner of roasted pork shoulder (with carrots, mashed potato’s, vegetarian gravy, and broccoli. See my link to The Food Geek for the future post.), he is going to be priming the bar while I fold laundry. PHEW!!!! I’m glad I was totally lazy yesterday ‘cause I have worked my butt off today!

THE MEL WEEKEND COMETH!!!

This weekend has been awesome! Friday night was hanging out at the house. Didn’t go anywhere, just laid down on the couch with my Sweetie and watched X3. In my opinion, although I acknowledge to the nerds that it doesn’t follow the comic book plot lines, was an awesome movie! Very smooth, very entertaining. Saturday was hanging out around the house not doing much except relaxing and playing with the boy. Sunday had some work involved with laundry, painting of some of the rough spots around the house and tidying up the storage area in the basement. I took the Boy to the park in the morning…before it SNOWED! Can you frickin’ believe it snowed before it’s even NOVEMBER!?! GAH! I bought a pair of stools from our YIG at an awesome sale price of $24.98 a piece. I think they go very well with our bar. What do you think?

I'm so bitter that it's already hugely cold and snowing! I wanted a couple more weeks of chiminea weather! I LOVE my chiminea! It is the most calming, relaxing thing that I own.

This week should be interesting, lots of meetings and there still isn’t anyone hired into Marshy’s spot so I’m still by myself. Oh well, at least I have a Mel weekend to look forward too! YAY MEL!!! I’m buffing the blender for us now! Just a quick flash back to the last bit of drunken revelry that happened...:)

AAAAAHHHHH!!! You can't beat drunk blue Smartie lips! I have a package of Key Lime Smoothies with our names on it!

Fredericton...

IT IS TIME. For the vacation post! We had set the alarm for 5am on Saturday morning so that we could have a good breakfast and get on the road. At 4am I have a massive nightmare and wake up in a cold sweat. 5 minutes later I hear The Boy…giggling!?! Then he starts calling for Mommy. When I get to his room and ask him what was wrong he asks me why I was calling him! I told him it was a dream and crawled into bed with him and started rubbing his back. After a little while I realize that it’s less then an hour away from when the alarm is scheduled to go and both The Boy and I are awake. At this point I send him in to wake up J so that we can get going. After having breakfast, packing the car, and doing a final bathroom break we start out. Things are going well and we get all the way to the Blair Rd. turn off when I screech out, “OH MY GOD I FORGOT MY PURSE!!!”. It contains my drivers license, the Boy and my health cards, me MP3 Player, my palm pilot, and my cell phone as well as other miscellaneous things. It has taken us an hour to get to this point, we are not turning around ‘cause if we do it’s going to be two hours before we get back to the same spot. I have many, many moments of self rage throughout the day over this. We get to Montreal and take the right turn off to get to the tunnel…and accidentally turn off the highway into Montreal!?! Wrong turn one of the day. We get back to the right road with no incident and continue on our way. We do several stops with us taking the Boy into the bathroom and then running his face off in the parks provided. We had fun pointing out land marks along the way. Rivers, mountains, the giant egg, the giant husky dog, bridges…bridges that we are suddenly going across that we shouldn’t be!?! Wrong turn number two of the day. Suddenly we are in Quebec City!?! Insert wrong turns three and four as we try to get back to highway 20. We ended up doing a lovely tour along the river and got to see a pretty cool church on the edge of a cliff. Anyway, we got back to the main road okay and eventually got to Fredericton.

A great week was had with Marco, Kelly, and Emily. The kids loved each other and spent most of their time together making each other giggle their faces off. Because I had left my driver’s license at home I was pretty much house bound and didn’t go out unless J was driving. On Sunday I went on a girls’ day to Moncton with Kelly shopping, Monday was Thanksgiving dinner with J’s family out at him mom’s place in Minto, Tuesday was hanging out at home with the Boy during the day then taking him back to Minto for an overnight stay with Nana. J and I went out for awesome dinner at Mei’s for CURRY NOODLES with ANGERAH, Wednesday was Cindy and George’s place for another family dinner and picking up The Boy, Thursday was dinner with Marco and Kelly, Friday was dinner with them again and an aborted trip to Rob and Betty’s place. We then packed the car and got up early on Saturday morning to get to Boyce’s Farmer’s Market before hitting the road. Got a MASSIVE tray of home-made baklava, but there weren’t any Samosa’s that day! ( The drive home was great with the Boy sleeping four times during the drive. We got home at about 6pm that night. Sunday was cleaning the house then Monday was back at work. PHEW!!! I need a vacation….

Oh So Blergy...

So...tired.

Have been back from vacation since Saturday night. Slept like the dead, worked all day Sunday to clean the house and do three loads of laundry...yes they are still not folded and put away. Have done an hour of overtime every night with week. Tomorrow night is movie night so something to look forward to.

Will try to finish my vacatino posts later this week if not this weekend. We have no plans scheduled so should get some free time.

Pre-Thanksgiving Weekend!

Let’s go back about two weeks ago. I have been so lazy about my blog that I thought the best way to catch up was to three separate posts covering everything.

The Boy, J and I drove down to my parents’ house in Cobourg on the Friday night. Great drive, no problems, plus we did our traditional stop at McDonalds for dinner to be eaten in the car on our way. The driver is also traditionally fed by the p
erson in the navigator seat. "FRY!" :) We had brought the Boy’s bike in the truck so as soon as we got there we had him out and driving around my parents’ cul-de-sac for about an hour. It tired him out really well, although it did not with his sleep during that night. He had a really bad tummy and was up crying a couple times so I ended up sleeping next to him for half the night. Not a bad deal since when J and I sleep there we are in a double sized bed. The next day was cloudy so we headed out to the Roseneath Fair early. It was about 10am when we arrived. The Boy went right in the first barn and started getting acquainted with all of the baby animals. It was at this point that I started my cross country trip. We had brought a limited amount of cash to try to budget our trip. Little did we know that it would cost $14 just to get in the park! I walked from one end of Roseneath to the other looking for an ATM before was told it was at a gas station at the other end of town. At that point I had to hop in the car and drive there, get the cash, drive back and find the boys. They had been fine this whole time because The Boy had gotten to hold baby ducks, chickens, and bunnies. This is when the fun started. We perched our boy on a pony for a $3 ride, the 200-year-old, fully-restored, carousel for the first of THREE rides for the day, the baby roller coaster, the two-storey Farris wheel, and finally the Scrambler. Not one moment of fear was had by my son! J only went on the Merry-Go-Round with him for two of the rides, while I did the other ones. We also watched a black smith demonstration and had a bite to eat. On the way back to the car my Monster saw the mid-way so off we went to do Skee-ball, the water-gun race game where we won a turtle for the kid, and finally the ping-pong ball toss to win a $5 gold fish. We talked the Boy into letting the fish stay at Nana and Poppa’s house so that it could go to Nana’s school and live with the other fishes. Monday morning we received this email:

“am sorry to announce the death of CHARLIE THE FISH at approximately 7:25 am this day the 2nd day of October, 2006. He went towards the big light in the aquarium in the sky. Those attending the interment in the downstairs toilet were Paul Alexander Dean and Brigit Dean. Grama Dean did not attend as she was too overwhelmed and had to got to work. We will keep special memories of Charlie in our hearts forever and ever.”

I love my Mom! She’s silly! So over all it was a $60 day but the memories that we made we worth it! Dinner that night with my brother, his wife, and Josh. My dad made Mike Dunn’s recipe for baked beans…yes, there was a VERY musical night after that! Anyway, headed home on the Sunday to prepare for my first week without Marshy being with me in the office. Turns out there was a major lawsuit thing happening so I had to go to meeting with a bunch of VP’s and then spread the word about what was needed to get the information to the lawyers. I felt very self important. Also, I left the whole thing in Marshy’s lap while I went on a week’s vacation to Fredericton! Tee hee! Ah, the satisfaction is sweet!
Anyway, See following posts about the vacation.

WAAAAAAH!!!!

So I got sick...again. Another sinus cold. Cancelled all my plans for the weekend so that I could rest up and get better. Then when I was putting the clothes on the line today I got stung by a bee on my baby finger! ARG!!!

Things have been going okay besides all that. Had a fire in the chiminea last night with Grant and Risa, did my performance review for the year and got a positive review, and on top of that fixed the problem with my overtime and it all should come on to the pay that is just before we leave for Fredericton! YAY! Two more weeks! We are booked for Thanksgiving dinner with J's family for the Monday. Nothing else booked as of yet. Need to buy The Boy a new Magna-Doodle for the 11 hour car ride.

One more week before Marshy leaves for the year. WAH!

Oh what a week...

It is time for the mother of all posts. I have been busy out of my skull for the past week and a bit. There has been something on every night and it’s all been an emotional wringer…well, maybe not all of it. Anyway, The Boy got off to school no problems. We had the interview at the school with his teacher Ms. E. I cried. We got him all packed with his massive backpack that he can barely lift. I cried. We all got up, dressed and walked to his bus pick up spot. It was all smiles and I even got him getting onto the bus on video. After he drove away I cried…and cried…and got in the car to go to work…and cried. Pretty much watched the clock all day until I got the MSN that he was home with Daddy. He likes school very much…and then we got the call home from the teacher. Apparently, besides a listening problem where he wait’s for the second time and a time-out before doing what is asked, he likes to poke the other children when he is feeling bored and wants to start playing. I love the new level of stress and anxiety that him being at school brings me. Besides the fact that he is now at home fulltime and we aren’t paying for daycare anymore, I know that school is good for him. His counting is up to 13, and he can almost spell his name. He gets all the letters in there he just doesn’t get them in the right order. The Black Eyed Peas concert was AWESOME!!! Fourth row left and TONS of fun! I loved the Swollen Members, although I was sad that Moka Only wasn’t there with them anymore. Beside Prevail, insert heavy breathing here, his singing was my favourite part of the group. Rhianna was a slutty marionette who could only shove out her tits and ass. Singing!?! Whatever quality there is in her voice is totally overshadowed by the tarty look.

I got soooooo much of the concert on video! My favourite was Fergie doing a cover of Gun’s ‘N Roses, Sweet Child of Mine.We had a great weekend at home with friends. Friday I picked up Mel from her place in the Market and hit the road for home. Got majorly drunk on Butter Shots and eventually passed out in The Boy’s bed. He had gotten up to go pee and wanted to watch his shows so I had to pick him up to put him back in bed. He was quite sad about this so I gave in and laid down with him for a “little bit”. J poked me awake enough to stumble to bed an hour later. No hangover to speak of. Had to go to the bathroom at 5am and was a bit dizzy but no headache or stomach problems. Had toast with Mel and then packed the entire family into the car to take Mel home. We had an awesome time in the market with J shopping for veggies, The Boy trying maple sugar candy for the first time, and accidentally participating in the Nissan Versa Road Trip. Basically think amazing race only across Canada, challenges in every major city and the person with the most points gets a new car at the end of it. Two of them were selling Beavertails on the street and The Boy was interested so we wandered over. Only thing is once we got closer I couldn’t see any signs of the beavertail hut, the two kids were holding pre-made tails, and the large group of people following them made me think they were street kids trying to make money. Basically, got there, The Boy started hugging one of their stuffed toy beavers, I got a weird vibe and ended up saying, “We had just come to say Hi.”, then hurrying the boy away from them. About 20 feet away another kid comes up to me and gets me to sign a waiver for the footage shot to be used on the show!?! I don’t know, I found the site:

http://liveversa.ca/en/

…and now wish we had bought a beavertail to support the team!  Oh well, next time don’t look like hitch-hikers and you’ll sell more! The two that The Boy and I denied were Kayun and Christopher.Went to a party for an old co-worker of J’s on Saturday night, did a ton of laundry on Sunday morning, cut my lawn, used the whipper-snipper, went in to do two hours of over-time, got home to do more laundry, clean the house, and finally watched the second episode of House that I had missed on Tuesday night because Jeff and his German Fiancé were over for dinner. Then, because we had just bought a chiminea on MAJOR sale I had to have a fire…that started at ten and couldn’t get out until almost midnight. Insert major busy day at work here!

SIGH!! It’s now 8pm and I have cleaned the kitchen, baked a dozen banana muffins, packed the boy’s lunch, packed my lunch, and put the boy through his bed time routine.

I’M TIRED!!!!!!

Must get some rest. I’m going to a municipal meeting tomorrow night about the drainage in the area. I don’t know if it applies to me or not but if I attend I’ll meet some of my neighbors.

Save me from Sinus Colds...

I hate being sick. I mean this one didn’t seem to last that long.  The cold symptoms didn’t last much beyond Wednesday so I stopped taking the Tylenol Sinus pills.  So now I’m dealing with nausea, cold sweats, and dizziness off and on through out the day since then.  I have been kinda useful besides that.  Thursday night I got the lawn cut for the first time in a month and a half.  90% of the lawn had been burned off and dead so I wasn’t going to drag out the machine to do the little parts that lived in the shade!  Besides we were having a heat wave!  No yard work when death threatens thank you!  Anyway, weeded the driveway, ripped out the front garden and got it ready for winter, cleaned out my shed, got the bikes hung up from the ceiling, re-created our entire filing system and got Microsoft Money to balance with our current bills and budget.  THANK YOU I ROCK!

The Boy starts school on Tuesday.  I have to put my baby on a big yellow bus to take him away.  I am not happy.  Mother stuff, anxiety stuff, and I’m sure some other stuff so it all builds up to me not feeling happy about this.

Marshy got a new job.  It’s only a term for a year but it’s been her and me for so long now I’m sad, yet happy for her, yet very sad for me.  Going to lose my co-pilot.

J and I are hitting the brokest stage of our lives yet.  Wednesday is the quarterly tax payment of $4421, the 21st is the GST payment of about $700, and the 29th is the last property tax payment of the year at $702.  We are going to make it but thank you for the line of credit! We are eating a lot of potato’s and rice right now let me tell you!  The big challenge has been cutting back on the groceries.  Since we started tracking everything in Microsoft Money in June I can see that we have spent anywhere from $480-$636 on groceries per month!  We are trying to keep the lid on it to $200 for September.  We are about a third of the way in and we are at $80.  YAY FOR PRICE CHOPPER!!!!

Hmmmm…this one has been a little bit not happy.  Something happy, something happy….

With The Boy being at school or home with Jay means no more daycare bills and I’m now free to re-join the gym at work ‘cause I don’t have to leave work on the button at 4pm to go pick him up!

OH!!!  I’m going to the Black Eyed Peas concert on Wednesday!  4th row left!!!!  Should be AWESOME!!!

Labor Day...

GREAT long weekend!  It didn’t start off so great though.  I had booked Friday afternoon off to get the bags and car packed so that the family and I could be on the road by 4pm on the dot.  Firstly, I got into work for 7:30am with Marshy trailing in after my by 5 minutes.  She says let’s go to Timmy’s for a coffee before work.  Off we go in The Max.  As we pull out of the parking lot the car LOSES THE MUFFLER!  I’m not talking about it went sparking down the street, the car just got a hell of a lot louder.  I curse all the way back to work with Marshy laughing at me.  I call in to the dealership and find out there is a slot open at 10am. No problem.  As we are getting through the morning routine we find out some devastating news.  One of our co-workers in the active area died the night before.  A healthy, athletic 33 year old man just collapsed while wake-boarding.  Grief counselors on site and everything.  I leave at 9:30 to drive all the way across town, to get a whole new exhaust system for the bargain price of $355.  Yippee.  Then I get home and start tidying the house to get ready to start packing.  On the way to the guest room where we keep our luggage I wandered into the laundry room for no particular reason…and step in a puddle of water!?!  One of the pipes leading into the hot water heater has a slow leak.  We get out the old wrench and follow the old rule of “Lefty loosy, righty tighty”.  The slow leak is not a fast one.  Fast forward to us calling a plumber in within the half hour them spending 10 minutes replacing an “O” ring and I’m sure it’s going to be about $60 whenever the bill gets here.  SIGH!  Now I pack the bags, the toiletries, The Boy’s bike and helmet, and various toys for the boy to play with in the backseat.  Enter J playing a video game…until 4:15pm and me about to snap.  Finally out the door by 4:25pm.

At this point it is now a relaxing weekend.  Except for the fact that I get sick, another frickin’ cold, yay.  Got to see Tom and Lori twice, for the first time in my life I drank an entire bottle of wine by myself, with no hangover thank you very much!  My brother, his wife and their son came for dinner and had a great time.  The boys played very well and even had a bath together!  Will be back to do Thanksgiving with them the weekend before the holiday cause only 5 more weeks until we go to Fredericton!  YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!  *Kermit Arms*

Will post again this week.  Must go fold a mountain of laundry on my bed.

Ciao for now!

He Speaks!

Ever since The Boy started building his vocabulary he has been pretty funny. Here are some examples from this weekend.

Riding in the car, Mom spontaneously burst into…

“On top of spaghe-TTIIIIIII!”

The Boy, “Top…Skeddie!”

“All covered in CHEEEEEEEEESE!!!”

The Boy, “All…CHEEEEEEESE!!!”

I lost my poor MEAAAAAAT BAAAAAAAALLL!!!”

The Boy, “……*pause*….WHERE????”

Or how about tonight at my cousin’s for dinner with the family…

The Boy, “Me want juice.”

Cousin, “What’s the magic words?”

The Boy, “Me want JUICE!?!”

I just about coughed up a lung I was laughing so hard from these ones!

IT'S FLOAM!!!!

Does anyone else remember this stuff??? I saw the info-mercial and just about fell out of my chair!!! Check this out!

http://www.floamcanada.com/

Posting going slowly...again. I don't know what it is. It seems like I don't post for three days and then there is so much that has happened that I don't want to catch up. I'll bullet some major or minor events in the past couple weeks.

- Had my first yard sale with Marshy this weekend. I made 45 bucks and was quite happy to get rid of a ton of crap out of my basement.

- Have been doing some overtime so am quite tired...did four today, hopefully won't be doing any this week 'cause we are leaving for my folks place for the long weekend come Friday.

- The Boy is sick. The cold started on Wednesday night with running nose and congestion. Graduated to bubbly chest and nasty cough on Saturday morning. No fever so we know it's a virus, but this kiboshes us going to dinner with my family tomorrow night. My 83-year-old Gramma is going to be there and I don't want to become known in the family as the bringer of DEATH!

- My garden is still producing! We have the last of the yellow beans coming off the vines and the green beans are just starting.

- The Max is going into the "Shop" tomorrow. There is a rattle under the car every time we go over a bump and it won't catch 90% of the time on the first turn of the key. Today's record was 7 attempts before the son-of-a-gun caught. Good thing we bought a three year waranty on this sucker.

- Grey's Anatomy starts in less then a month! YAY!!!

- The Boy starts school in two weeks...*faint*.

- J and I, instead of laying back and watching a movie last night, reorganized the kitchen cabinets...And we both agreed we had more fun then if we had relaxed. Someone help us...we have lost any sign of "The Spark"!!! :D

- My Mom and Dad were up a week ago. They made us go out for dinner while they babysat! LOVE THEM! We went to the Vietnam Palace on Sumerset. WONDERFUL MEAL! GREAT SERVICE! And while we were gone my Dad did two separate fixes on our toilet, replaced out kitchen faucett, and sprayed out my bee's nest in my shed. Mom hemmed my jeans, washed my kitchen and office floor and kept the monster out of trouble. I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!

Here are random pics that have been taken in the last couple weeks to round out this post:

Enjoy!

Pretty awesome anniversary overall considering I didn’t really want to celebrate it…and I did two hours overtime tonight!

I get home at 7pm and my sweetie has a stir-fry almost done, flowers and an awesome card! Had dinner and even got a candle-lit dance on the deck to our wedding dance song. I love my HONEY!!!! Three years and counting…

YAY Weekend!!!

Great weekend so far! Last night was hanging out with the family, a group trip to Price Chopper for mega dealz on the groceries. Picked up a bunch of snacks for The Boy’s lunch bag. I even got a load of laundry through. The weirdest thing happened though. My left foot hurt like a son-of-a-gun for the entire afternoon and into the evening! I resorted to J’s advice of soaking the whole thing in a bucket of ice water. This did a good job of making my foot really, really, REALLY COLD…but not much else. I went to bed with the pain. I even woke up to MAJOR pain and was limping horribly for the first half hour or so. Then it went away!?! I don’t get it. It’s only the tiniest bit sore, nothing else. Weird.

We, all three of us, slept in the basement guest room last night. It has been stinkin’ hot all week. Even though last night was very nice we stayed down there ‘cause J and I have been getting ULTIMATE SLEEP down there! It’s like the capsule of sleep! I don’t wake up in the middle of the night and turn over, J, the King of Poor Sleep, has been getting solid nights of sleep since we moved down there. I think it’s the bomb-shelter-like-quality that has been helping. That, and the fact that it’s really nice and cool down there. Anyway, I’m feeling great today.

I got to use my new clothes line for the first time since we got it straightened by my Dad. It’s so much nicer then the old one! Even though the lines go around the four spokes in layers instead of going back and forth in straight lines, I found it to be really nice to stand in one place and just twist the whole thing around and around instead of having to walk back and forth. I know, this shouts of lazy. I know, let me tell you…I’M LAZY!!!! :) I had to take a picture, it's such a beautiful day out! Major blue sky, my grass still looks nice even though I cut it last on Thursday night, even though I hate my back fence with a passion. Oh well, project for next year.

J and I finally watched the last two episodes of BSG before the season finale. We are now waiting for KCh. to come over on Monday to finish it off. CAN’T WAIT!!! I have no real TV addictions right now. J downloaded me the first and second season’s of House so I’m just waiting for the new stuff to come on in the fall. I’m getting him to download me the entire series of Roswell, ‘cause (I admit it) I watched the first two seasons and then lost track of it. I find it funny that Brendan Fehr ended up on CSI:Miami!

Must go, am teaching the Boy how to write his name!

Blog ya later!

Blarg on me...

Yes, I have been extremely tardy in updating. Will do it in point form to catch you all up.

- Digital camera broke. ME SAD! Pretty much started the tailspin of not wanting to update.

- Went on Antibiotics on the Friday before the last post. It did nothing. I got steadily sicker for the rest of that week until I ended up in Emerg on the Monday night at 10:30pm. This is the Monday of my one week of vacation. Turns out the walk-in clinic gave me such a low dose for my meds that I might as well have been taking Tic Tacs to get me better. At this point I’m diagnosed with Sinusitis and Bronchitis and am put on heavy duty meds and a puffer. Am happy to say that other then a barking cough that flares up when I laugh I’m pretty much better.

- My vacation was AWESOME! I wandered the house, watched some movies, my parents came up in the Tuesday night and stayed until Friday morning…at which point J and I packed the car and brought the boy to Cobourg to stay at my parents house with the air conditioning. Got home Sunday afternoon and was back to work yesterday. While Dad was up he dug the stump out of my garden that I couldn't move, ripped out the tilted ground spike for the clothes-line and replanted it with a bag of cement (and leveled it), put my baseboard back up in the basement (we had a foundation leak scare, turns out we assume it was The Boy spilling alot of water 'cause there was no evidence of leakage that we could find.), took a massive load of stuff to the dump in his truck, changed the hall light and installed at garbage bag holder in the down stairs bathroom. He kept telling me that if he ran out of work he was going home early so I kept finding him stuff to do. I LOVE MY DADDY!!!!

- My birthday was on the Wednesday last week. It was really awesome! I went to the Spa, had a hot-stone pedicure and hot-stone massage, got taco’s for dinner and instead of a birthday cake had birthday Key Lime Pie!!! YAY!!!! No presents…Except that J went out with the Boy and bought us a new digital camera!!!! It was a Centrios that was on sale…turned out the lenses sucked and we took it back to get a Canon Powershot A430. Basically our old camera except half the price and newer. LOVE IT!!!!

- I harvested my first home-grown yellow beans from my garden!!! YAY!!! They were yummers!

-My first message after being away for a week was the *^%(*& Early Years people calling to say there had been a cancellation and did I want The Boy to sign up…for that day!!! The idiots called my work number instead of my home. We were down at my parents house on the Sunday and could have driven up Mom’s car the day before! Instead Mom has to drive it up yesterday afternoon and we buy her a train ticket to get her home that night! ARG!

- The Boy had an awesome first day of pre-school! According to J he went right up to a little boy and introduced himself. Then they went off and played! All was well when he got picked up too. I just had to go to Walmart last night on the run to get indoor shoes, a lunch bag, Tupperware containers that The Boy could open, and some juice boxes.

- Work is kinda hellish right now. No Marshy as she is starting her two weeks of vacation this week. Busy, and yet liking it. Just not liking being rushed to complete important tasks.

- Went to Linda and James place for a swim and dinner tonight. They were nice enough to invite us over to their house with central air during the heat wave. The boy were great and J got some great pictures. Also some wonderful videos…of his feet and the pavement. He made the classic Newbie mistake of pressing the button to turn it on when he thought he was turning it off and missed all of the shots of The Boy learning to swim. HA HA HA!!! YOU’RE NOT PERFECT HONEY!!! YOU MADE A MISTAKE!!! HA!

Anyway, am hoping that once the heat breaks I’ll be more into sitting in front of the computer to do some more posting.

Ciao for Now!

Say WHAT!?!

Once again another template. I got bored with the old one faster then the last time so here is another stab at as much originality that I can get from pre-chosen template choices.

I had a pisser of a day. I had my introduction to what may be complete incompetence at my son’s school board. Just to be clear, I have nothing against teachers, (Love you Lori!), I have something against outright incompetence with regard to registering students. I heard about this wonderful program being given by my son’s school at his open house. Basically it’s an introduction to the formalized routine of school. It’s also really good for kids that are still not speaking clearly. After speaking with the Principal she recommended The Boy be enrolled and that it should help him and lot. I called two weeks later, spoke to the same Principal, gave her all of The Boy’s information and was told the registration packages would be in during the next couple weeks. Time went by to the point that I realized last week that the program was starting in two weeks and I hadn’t heard anything from the school about the program. After playing phone-tag with the school and the program runners for three days I come to find out that The Boy is not registered for the program. Not only that but the program is full and he now is locked out.

I am now officially PISSED OFF!

I call the Superintendent of our district and leave a very polite message about the fact that I’m irate. The Principal has screwed up and that I want to know why my son is being denied this program when it’s not his fault and what are they going to do about it. About three hours later I have the Principal calling me, telling me that she doesn’t understand how this could happen and that she is so careful with these details. I’m sorry but if she were that careful this wouldn’t have happened to us.
She then asks, “So your really keen on having The Boy in the class.”

“Well yeah, you recommended it to him and said it was designed for kids like him!?!” I replied.

“Ooooooooookay, I’ll call the program runners and see what we can do.”

I have yet to hear back from her and if I don’t hear back from her before noon tomorrow I’m going to be putting another call through to her and then the Superintendent again. I hate to say it but they have created “One of THOSE Parents”. Meaning I’m going to be their worst nightmare for the next 8 years that The Boy is at that school. I’m never going to assume they have their act together or that they know what they are doing.

Can’t wait to see how this turns out…..

sodrunksodrunksodrunk....

I am having the best weekend.  Lots of sleep, and lots of fun with friends Marshy and Vicki in Renfrew.  There hasn’t been much going on.  Work stuff, home stuff, J downloaded House season’s 1 and 2 so I’m slowly working my way through that.  I’m about ¾ of the way through season 1.

KCh. is out of town with work for the next week, then he is back three days, then gone for his vacation in PEI.  I’m sorta house sitting by bringing in his papers every night while he is away.

We have the babysitter booked for J’s birthday.  We’re planning on leaving at about 1 in the afternoon and going down to Sumerset for shopping in the fun grocery stores there.  Cheap Dim Sum lunch, dinner and a movie should make it fun for J.  For mine I have a hot stone massage and a hot stone pedicure booked at the spa.  CAN’T WAIT!!!

Last weekend was VERY busy.  I left the boys at home to go help my best friend move into her first house with her husband.  It was a long couple of days but very worth it to be there.  The first day was shifting the boxes and furniture from house to truck then truck to house.  The second day was me digging out her gardens and planting.  It was ROUGH!   The one garden that I spent most of the day in had been left to turn into the lawn.  I had to dig out sod and the base roots of whatever had been left in there for a couple years at least.  The second garden had been maintain pretty well so it was 45 minutes work instead of 4 ½ hours.  I added peat moss and even got three flats of annuals on sale for about 30 bucks.  I’ll add pictures once I get them from my Mom’s computer.

I’m feeling more then a little bitter that I don’t really have any vacation for the summer.  I have a day here and a day there but no long stretches.  I feel so tired and worn, but I only get three weeks a year so I don’t want to blow it all in one go and then be stuck if I need the days.  In four more years I’ll have earned another week of it through milestone years at work.  It will be nice ‘cause you want to save one week to use as one at a time, and then do a week at a time.  Oh well, I just have to get through the summer and then The Boy will be in school and then no more daycare…NO MORE DAYCARE!!!!  I can’t wait!  Not that I’m not going to desperately miss Sam, our provider.  Just that I’m not going to miss the cost.  $210 every two weeks will be ours again.  It’s going to be going straight to the debts for the next year.  Once we are dug out from those we are going to start feeling like we are getting ahead.

Ciao for now and will add those pictures in a week or so.

Let's Go Fly a Kite...*Mary Poppins*

I took the Boy and J kite flying for the first time last night! The Boy had obviously never done it before but I was shocked to find out that J had never flown one before either. I don’t know about you but to me that is wild. Kites were a big part of my childhood. My brother and I grew up next to a school yard so we were there constantly with different models over the years. Then again, he did grow up in Fredericton, maybe kites weren’t huge out there….Anyway, The Boy had fun with it until about mid way through. Then he told me that it was, “No fun, it go up, it fall down, it go up, it fall down. No fun.”

Try explaining to a toddler about the challenge of keeping it in the air.

Anyway, am going to be off for the weekend to Cobourg to help my girlfriend move into her first house. CAN’T WAIT!!! She has told me I will be lawn and garden girl! Am going to be weeding, cutting the lawn, whipper-snippering, etc. J and the boy will be staying home. J’s mom and aunt are coming into town for the Canada Day weekend, and J’s mom is staying for the week after. I’ll see them when I get home Sunday afternoon.

No vacation booked for the summer really. The Boy’s beginner school class took the one for August out. Oh well, I’ll take a day at a time when I need it and then take a week or two in the fall or winter.

Blog ya later.

Green Thumb!

I had a really good Tuesday night. There was a fire at the movie theatre that KCh and I go to so we rescheduled for later in the week to see the The Lake House. It was beautiful weather so I took full advantage and finally finished my front garden. The crusty thing was still in the position to hug the old deck. The pics go in the order of: before front angle, before side angle, during, and finished.

I still need to build it up with some more soil and add some more flowers to fill it out but I’m pretty proud of my first major gardening job done without my Dad helping.

And, yes, I'm grass seeding the front to get the lawn back up to the stones.

Ciao for now

YAY WEEKEND!!!!!

I don’t know if I have told my demanding public about my wee little problem. About once a month, thus this leads me to suspect that it’s attached to my cycle, I get what J and I call, “My little cloud of doom”. Basically I get majorly depressed/irritable due to nothing that we can tell other then it’s that time. So I was deep under the shadow of my little cloud yesterday when I discovered what can make it fly away: PURPLE TOES!!!!

It seems if I go out in the car for a fast drive with the windows down blasting Sean Paul’s Temperature and buy a new shade of toe nail polish it gets my spirits back up. Gotta love Sean Paul and purple toes!

My garden is doing really well! My beans are up about 4 inches, my lettuce is going insane in a green carpet, and my onions have finally started showing the little green tops. I still have to finish the garden in the front of my house but the weather is not cooperating. I’m not going to do it in the pouring rain, but I’m also not going to do it in the middle of a heat wave and get heat stroke.
The boy and I had a lovely moment today. I was reading under the umbrella on the deck while he was playing in his sandbox. I guess he got a little hot ‘cause he walked back to the deck and climbed into the lounge chair for a rest with me! Love that kid!We also got him is first two-wheeler! Another toddler milestone gone.
Anyway, I still have the residual cloud, namely a headache and lack of energy to do more the move my mouse around. Will post again soon.

Ciao for now!

YAWN!!!!!

Yes it’s the return of the “God –DAMN am I tired!” posts.  I’m soooooo fuzzy right now.  Just got back from a huge walk, didn’t get much sleep last night…or the night before that.  Work is going okay, my boss has been away for two weeks and is gone for one more.  Am going to try doing a garage sale on Saturday morning…we’ll see how that goes.

Anyway, just a quick update that I’m still alive…barely.

Blog ya later!

YAY 5KM!!!!!

The walk went great! It was 6 of us who drove down to the race. Four including Marshy, my friend Lori, and I. We kinda split up within the first 15 minutes or so. Breaking into two’s with the speed we were comfortable at. I’m happy to report that Lori and I came in at 56:48.2!We also had some great news come in on Friday. WE SOLD THE CRIB SET!!!! YAY!!! I immediately called Mom and got the number for the clearing house in my home town where there was an awesome sale on a captains bed for the boy. After buying it over the phone and telling my Mom and Dad about when they could pick it up I started dismantling the Boy’s room, starting with emptying his dresser into my hobby room. It’s the season where I have to go through his clothes, see what is going to fit him come next fall, separate the things that are done forever, and bring out the summer things from last year and see what will fit him. I had to take J and the Boy to Walmart on Sunday afternoon ‘cause not only did the Boy have almost no shorts that fit him, we needed to pick up his new bed set. He had the choice of Batman or what he ended up choosing…SPONGEBOB!!!!His room is sooooooooo CUTE! I ended up taking down a little shelf out of the corner ‘cause the Boy would have hit his head on it eventually. Mom and Dad were great and bought the Boy the matching night stand for a present.

THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!

There is also HUGE thanks going out to my Dad for other stuff. Not only did he bring up the new bed, put it together from truly asinine instructions, he ripped most of the front deck off my house and replaced the railing to make a really sweet platform leading up to our front door! He has worked like a dog these past two days in the heat and humidity and had it all done by this afternoon…in time to help me deliver the baby furniture out to it’s new home. Once again, my Dad rocks!

Anyway, I have a line on selling the old air conditioner that came with the house. Let’s hope that one comes through, all the cash we can get our hands on right now is appreciated. The tax payment is two weeks away, and my income tax return has yet to make an appearance in our account. SIGH!!! I called and found out it hasn’t even been processed! DOUBLE SIGH!!!

J’s job is secure for several months. It was coming down to the wire with the current contract expiring…the day after TOMORROW! He finally asked his boss when the paperwork was coming through and boy was he surprised! He thought that it had all been taken care of and that everything was fine. Meanwhile I’m hyperventilating in the corner at the thought of J being unemployed two weeks after buying the new car! Everything a-o-k for now.

Must go. Am sticky and hot and miserable…and this is in the office that has the working air conditioner. And if you are wondering I’m selling one when it is so hot here, this is the AC that doesn’t fit in any of the windows…the one that the yahoo’s cut a hole in the outside wall of the bedroom to get it to work. That one.

Ciao for now!
