Default Concert

For those of you who were not aware, I went to the Default concert at the Capital City Music Hall last night. Went with Keith, had a blast, met some cool people! Here are all the pics that I took. Blonde girl is the lead singer of one of the opening bands, Oliver Black. She was AWESOME! Very Janice Joplin. The guy in the red shirt is the lead singer of the other opening band that I didn't even get the name of. They were fun, but you could tell they were REALLY new. All their equipment was held together with duct tape! For the record, every pic that I'm in I'm horribly unattractive! Why do I tilt my head back when I look in the camera!?!

The boy won...for tonight!

How did he do it!?!  I can’t believe my three year old defeated me!  Here goes:

I’m trying to watch Grey’s Anatomy at 7pm instead of 10pm so I can get to bed early.  I’m folding a mountain of laundry when The Boy starts his routine of annoy Mommy while she works.  Can I help Mommy?  If I push over all these neat little piles that’s helping, right???  NO!  So I take him by the shoulders walk him down the hall to his room and tell him to play with his Choo-Choo (aka Thomas the Tank Engine set).  I leave and get back to work and the plot line when I hear this shaking sound.  It’s the sound of many plastic parts rattling around in a card board box.  Walking down the hall with a suspicious look on my face I find my child with the box that contains the plastic battery-powered train set my mother-in-law gave him.  There is a strange grinding noise emanating from said box.  Upon further investigation, I dumped the whole box on the floor, I found one of his battery powered “Thomas” trains uselessly chugging away amongst the parts.  After turning it off, I then instruct my progeny,

“Boy, (I don’t really call him boy.  I just won’t list his name here.) put the choo-choo back in the box.”

To which he replied, “NO Mommy!” as he stomped his feet.

I then continued with “You will stay in your room until the choo-choo is in the box!” and promptly left to catch the next 15 minutes of Greys.

I come back at the next commercial to find him reading one of his books.  I take the book away and repeat the aforementioned instructions.  Same reaction as before except the use of the “Pouty Lip” is applied.

After another 15 minutes of drama on the TV I come back to find him lying on the floor with his feet pointed at the ceiling rocking back and forth.  Once again, “Boy, put the choo-choo back in the box!”.  He then stands up, crawls into the bed and covers himself saying, “No Mommy, sleep!”.  Okay, at this point I don’t believe him and go back to the last segment of Greys.  Fifteen minutes later I go back to his room and find him ASLEEP!!!  Friggin’ kid won the argument…for today!  I WILL WIN THIS!  Tomorrow when he gets home from daycare there is going to be no TV and no computer games until the GOD DAMN choo-choo is back in the box!  How’s that for parenting!?!

Ciao for now.

Perfect Sundays...:)

I have been having a whole string of perfect Sundays! This is the second Sunday where The Boy has randomly crawled into my lap in the mid afternoon and promptly crashed. I love this little human so friggin’ much!

I went to the Nickelback concert last night with KCh. and Marshy. It was without a doubt the BEST concert that I have ever been too…EVER! Danko Jones sucked clowns, but Live, and Nickelback put on a hell of a show. They both played all my favourites. The only downside to the whole thing was some chick who thought the landing on the stairs closest to us was her own personal platform. She did her “I flick my long hair over my shoulders and its dancing” dance and was pretty much made fun of by the entire section. Did that stop her? No. Oh well, making an idiot of ourselves in public places is a form of self expression…I think.

This past week at work has been hell. My company is being sued and it revolves around how my office does registered letters. I am so friggin’ stressed about going into work tomorrow. I don’t wanna go. I just wanna stay home with my head under the covers and pretend that it’s all going to go away. I’m so stressed that I’m going over with J the plan if I get fired. Yay. Can’t wait to see how this all shakes down.

Anyway, it was too cold to take The Boy on any field trips this weekend. We’ll see how we do next one.

Blog ya later.

Woohooo

Woohooo!!!

My Sweetie is taking me out for a Valentine’s dinner tonight! Don’t know where we are going yet. We’re thinking of the Vietnam Palace, Yang Schen, Mamma Gratzi’s, Azteca’s….Don’t know maybe even somewhere new. Sara is here and playing with the Play Doh with The Boy. Speaking of which, had a great day with him. We all went to the Carlingwood mall for a couple hours. Bought new underwear of everyone, J got a new kitchen doo-hicky, we all went to Harvey’s for lunch and then home. The boy was overall good. There was a wee incident after leaving the play area in the Electronic Boutique that lasted for about 20 minutes. I love tantrums in public places! They make me laugh because they are usually over something so trivial. “MOMMY!!!!! I wanna go back and play with the game cube!!!!” Not like, “MOMMY!!! My arm was just severed and my life blood is spraying the walls!!!”. Although the volume and passion behind the screaming would be on the same scale! :( Anyway, when people stopped and stared at me dealing with the crying with hugs, I just stared them down and said loudly, “He’s a sad boy.” They would either smile or shake their heads in disgust. Their issues, not mine.

Anyway, must go. Time to hop in the car and decide where dinner is!

Nighty Night!

…..

So, I tired to publish the above post before we went out. Didn’t work, couldn’t connect to the server so I saved it. It’s now Sunday morning. Last night was awesome! The boy was happy to see Sara($25) and apparently they got along great. The boy even asked after her when he woke up this morning. J and I ended up at Patty Bolands for a nice informal dinner. We were on the ground floor in the back in a little nook of a table. Snuggling and PDA’s (public displays of affection) were had. J had the cornmeal crusted-saffron aole haddock, while I made due with the vegetable curry sensation. I don’t know why they named it that. There was nothing sensational about it. Flavourless/colourless would be more accurate. Then again they were going for a Thai/Indonesian curry while I’m used to Indian curry that is very flavourful. J and I basically ate off each other’s plate so I had my share of his fish as well. After dinner (75$ with tip) off we went to Oh So Good for cake and coffee at my request($25 with tip). I haven’t been to this place in ages. I had a Chai cafĂ© latte with a slice of chocolate brownie cheesecake, while J had English Breakfast tea from a mal-designed pitcher, (it leaked on the table whenever you poured from it.), and a slice of “The Real Deal”, which was some sort of chocolate mousse cake with slivered almonds on the top. Neither of us finished, but it was due to richness. So now we are at the end of the evening, the drive home. My tummy, is at this point not happy at me, I don’t know how I made it the 45 min. drive home ‘cause when I finally got there I lost all my dinner. J compared me to the Simpson’s episode where Homer wouldn’t stop eating the giant sandwich that was older then time, I looked all grey and shaky and shivery. He made the bed for me and tucked me in. I feel much better this morning, but Holy God! J ate the exact same things that I did. We shared plates the whole night and he was fine!?! ARG! Oh well, now my only gripe is that how am I supposed to Weight Watcher point out what I threw up and didn’t throw up???? The entire evening came to about $130 with $5 of parking. We both said the same thing, we’re not going out together again until our anniversary in August!

Anyway, The Boy wants some attention.

Ciao for now.

Weekly Update

Weekly Update

Lots of stuff happening this week.  The first three days of my work week were candy-coated Hell.  The boy was getting us up at 3:30 in the morning every night, sometimes twice a night with bathroom issues.  Whether he had peed the bed, had gone pee-pee on the potty, had a nightmare, basically no sleep was had.  By Wednesday night I was beside myself with exhaustion.  I had plans with friends on Tuesday night AND Wednesday night.  I was so crusty I cancelled on both.  Sucks ‘cause I was going out with KCh. for movies on Tuesday and M&G with Teddy on Wednesday.  (  Anyway, Wednesday night we had our first good sleep in almost a week.  Friday was even better so I ws flying high at work.

Speaking of work, The National Capital Race weekend is coming in May.  Our company is a major sponsor of the 10k and 5k.  I’m going to be walking/running the 5k and have started fundraising.  The best thing ever happened!  I convinced my Inn to donate a night at their place for fundraising!!!  I’m going to be doing a raffle on March 3rd.  I can’t wait to see how much money we make on this!

Weighed in today, lost 2 lbs!!!  I love it!  Am back at 154 lbs…again.  I looked through my tracking booklet and I have hit this one about 6 times in the last 6 months.  Ladies and Gentleman, I believe we have a plateau!?!  Mom got her 10 lbs lost ribbon last week!  I’m so friggin’ proud of her!  I booked us in for pedicures as her reward for putting in the work.  We’ll go get funky toes and then off to Rideau Center to go out to lunch and shop.

My sweetie is taking me out for Valentine’s Day this Saturday.  We’re going to the Vietnam Palace on Somerset.  J has been there before and said it was amazing, can’t wait to see if it lives up to all the talk.

Anyway, off to bed.  Can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow!

Ciao for now.

Great weekend so far

Great weekend so far. Friday night was hanging out at home with the boy while J went out to Grisa’s place to watch a basketball game. I ended up getting in my pj’s early and was in bed almost as soon as the kid was asleep. J woke me up a little when he got to bed late, then the boy had to go pee-pee at 3:30 in the morning. He won’t just go down stairs, do his business, and then go back to bed. He wants the acknowledgement that we know he went so he will call and call until someone answers and says he is a good boy. Only thing is we want to SLEEP!!! Arg. Oh well. We were up pretty early with him and got the laundry started, the floors mopped and vacuumed, and the kitchen cleaned up. After that, we all went out to lunch together at Wendy’s and then off to the Agricultural Museum for a family day out. The boy behaved SO well! He was great at lunch, and he was even better checking out the cows and sheep! He would walk up to each animal in the pen and say, “HI COW! HI SHEEP! HI BULL!”. Too cute showing him this kind of stuff for the first time! I can’t wait to take him to the Metro Toronto Zoo!

After we got back from that I still had the itch to travel. I hopped in the car and went to the dealership to check out the Hyundai Sonata for J. He has been trying to talk this car on our list of possible replacement for the Neon for a long time now. Okay, he wins! GREAT looking car! It’s gonna be interesting to see which one we end up with by June. From there it was to St. L. mall for some track extensions for the boy’s Thomas the Tank engine collection, Bayshore for a book for me, pants for J, and some more spice jars for J.

Tomorrow the plan is for me to work some overtime, then over to L&James’s place for me and James coming to our place. We are calling it SPOUSE SWAP 2006! L and I are going to watch Wedding Crashers and the boys are going to nerd out on the computers.

Ciao for now!

It wasn't food poisoning...

Yup, I got a touch of stomach flu today. Apparently, 5 out of the 6 kids in our daycare came down with the same thing and all the parents are dealing with it as well. All because one family brought their kids to daycare even though they knew they were sick. ARG!!! Oh well, who needs to go to work...oh yeah, I DO! :(

Going to see Underworld : Evolution tomorrow night with KCH and my Sweetie. Even though the movie is being panned, I'm excited. A night out with my Honey is always fun.

Buh Bye.

GREAT WEEKEND!

What a fantastic weekend! I feel so relaxed right now it’s not funny. The whole thing didn’t start off very relaxed. It looks like Ryan picked up a bit of food poisoning ‘cause on the drive down on “The Seven”, just before the Timmy Ho’s by Madoc, the Boy woke up and started talking about having to go pee-pee. Well, we figure we can just pull over and let him water the snow. So we get pulled onto a side road and drop his pants…to find that he has pooped…A LOT! Insert family doing the quick change of his pants ‘cause it’ frickin’ cold and he is shivering (poor boy). We just get him in the car with a clean bum when he start projectile vomiting. Some went down the front of him but a lot of it went out the car door and never hit anything but the ground! Once again, POOR BOY! We get his shirt changed and him under his coat to get him warm. Before we start back on the road we give him the “Potty Cup” to hold in case he is feeling sick again. This a like the insert to a training potty that is like a giant mug with a handle that has rounded rims. This was the best idea we had ‘cause he was sick twice more and both times he got it all in the cup and all we had to do was chuck the yuck in the ditch and use a wet wipe to clean his mouth and the cup before giving it back to him. Once we got him in the door at Nana and Poppa’s he was even dry heaving in the kitchen sink before we could get him to the bathroom. At this point I’m am convinced that the Inn weekend is cancelled. I’m not just dumping a sick kid on my folks to go off and whoop it up while my baby is going through Hell and they are going through it with him. Turns out though that the next morning he was fine! Not 100% but no more throwing up, there was never any sign of a fever, and he was drinking and nibbling on food. So, Mom and Dad convinced J and I to go ahead and have our weekend.

We went shopping at the Northumberland Mall for the earrings that I had seen at Christmas and had planned to buy with my overtime money. My Sweetie surprised me and bought me the matching necklace as an anniversary present! LOVE THAT MAN!!!

We had lunch with my best friend/bridesmaid LW at the Oasis Bar and Grill (Got an awesome pic of L and I in the Henley Arcade on the way back to the car. Someone was getting creative with their graffiti and had done some poetry and some flowers.), went back to the Inn and checked in, met with an old friend of the family who runs a used car lot and put him on the hunt for a used Mazda 6 sport wagon or hatchback (whichever he finds first), went to Walmart for a quick shop, and then back to the Inn to settle in. I had a lovely swim, J watched Discovery channel, I read one of my ebooks, and we both just relaxed. LW and her husband TW came over for a quick dinner before they were out to play poker with some friends of theirs. It was nice to have them over, we don’t get to see them often enough due to the distance factor.

Slept great, had a great breakfast and was back to pick up the boy for around 11:30. He was happy to see us and besides still having some bad bums is back to normal. Mom and Dad had a great time with him…except for him getting Nana up at 5:30 in the morning! :(

Anyway, great weekend, can’t wait to see what this week brings.

Ciao for now.

Life Bullets

- Started the process to register the boy for Junior Kindergarden, yes I did cry a little

- Am doing some under the table work to organize a friend's files and records keeping system. this equals earrings money!!! :) Am sad 'cause I missed time with the boy tonight. He stayed home 'cause he was uber-grumpy and I was going to take him with me to the friend's house while I worked. Too grumpy for me to do work and not be concerned about his behavior at the friend's house. Apparently he fell asleep 5 minutes before I walked in the door. I tried to wake him 'cause it was only 6:30pm but he wasn't budging. I'm going to be going to bed early 'cause he will be up at 6am I'm sure.

- I am feeling so tired/sad/hungry right now I don't know whether to cry, sleep, or find something deep frid to do both of those thing in before I devour it.

- Wanna go see the Trews at Barrymore's on the 4th but none of my friends like them enough to pay the $20 ticket. I've done the "go the concert by myself becuase I love them and being by myself can't stop me from seeing them live" thing. Now I'm at the stage I just wanna go to see them and not stand there like a loser...alone. *SIGH*

-Am depressed about work. My boss told me it really "bothers her" when my face looks worried when she is telling me about new projects. Gee, I guess I should look happy when she is overloading me with work to the point that I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

-The light at the end of the tunnel right now is my Sweetie and I going to our Inn this Saturday! Can't wait! Gonna swim my face off, and then stuff it with Chinese Food! WOOT!

Gotta go find something that isn't running away too fast to consume.

Buh Bye.

DOUBLE HOLY COW!!!

I can't frickin' believe it! Marshy won the trip to San Fransisco this morning!!! One trip left...hmmmmmm......

WAAAAH!!!

So I take the boy into the Dr. today. After she diagnoses him with an ear infection and bronchitus, she takes one look at me and says, "Open up.". So I'm now home for the rest of the week with Strep Throat. Yippee. All I gotta say is we had better be health for next weekend! Wouldn't it be great for J and I to be hacking and coughing at the Inn for our anniversary!?!

Blerg.

Double ZZZ...ZZZ..

Another fun night of the croup. If this kid is not showing any signs of getting better toinght he is going to the DR. tomorrow. It was another night of sitting in a cold room while his breathing straightened up, being woken up every hour, and the new one was him being in a fever at 4:30am. That was 2 cups of juice, 7.5 ml of Motrin (he's 42 lbs, that is the dose for someone his size), and lots of hugs. I'm so not here mentally. My goal today is to get through with as few mistakes as possible.

*sigh* I want my little boy to be feeling better...:(

Monday, January 16, 2006

*ZZZ...ZZZ...*

K, so the boy was up alot last night. The coughing woke him up several times and the first time he was absolutely terrified of the humidifier. I had to talk him down from that one, then every other time after that it was coughing woke him up so then he would need a hug, need a drink, need some love then back to sleep. Poor sick kid.

SO TIRED.....:(

Going to the Mart that is Wal tonight! YAY! Going to get the boy a present for getting toilet trained. Am thinking along the lines of play doh......

Sunday, January 15, 2006

Poor Boy...

The boy has major croup right now. He went to bed fine, was sleeping like a log, but when I went to check on him about 45 minutes ago he was tossing and turning, desperately trying to swallow, then finally started the seal-barking-coughs. J and I had him on his puffer then opened the window in my hobby room so that some cold air could stop the attack. Maybe 15 minutes in there settled him down. We now have the bed elevated, the humidifyer running on high, and the window cracked open in his room. No worries, will close it when we go to bed. I put socks on him and tripled his blankets. He shouldn't freeze. *sigh* He is going to be home a couple days with this...

Potty training is going great! We had a 90% dry weekend! A poop on the potty both days, but a whoops poop in his pants at about 5:30 tonight. I caught him trying to "wash" his briefs out in the toilet, eeewww, and he looked so sad when he saw that I had caught him. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day.

J and I had a fun 30 minute conversation about new cars. Basically we talked around the idea about finding out how much Barney would be worth on the trade in, but in the end we can back to the fact that we still have a ton of debt after buying the house and it makes more sense to suffer through with my purple shit-box at least until June. We are planning on going by Sarnia to my Grandma's, both of them, place for a visit. J and the boy have never been and I haven't been since.....hmmm....I think with Mom over Easter when I was still single??? It's been awhile. Also, we have the annual trip to New Brunswick in August. All this would be easier with a bigger car.

Must go, new Gray's Anatomy tonight.

Ciao for now.

Friday night...

Had a GREAT start to the weekend! Marshy came home with me. Jay had a fantastic meal ready to go of field green salad with balsamic dressing, french onion soup, and creamy chicken alfredo with mushrooms and red peppers. After stuffing ourselves silly, Marshy and I headed into town to see "The Family Stone" at the AMC. DO NOT GO SEE THIS MOVIE! It is advertised as a romantic comedy. It is NOT! It is all about strife in the family, ton's of tear-jerker moments, and overall you come out of it feeling depressed. We tried to go to Dairy Queen to end the night of carnage on a high note, but the place was packed, the line up to the cash was out the door, and after 5 minutes of standing in an unmoving line we hit the road. We stopped at the Mac's once we got back into town and picked up some ice cream and went back to the house to watch some TV with J before taking Marshy home.

I started back with Weight Watchers yesterday. I have gained 3 lbs since the last time I weighed in a month ago, but that is 3 pounds less then I was when I weighed myself 2 weeks ago. I'm sooooo motivated right now about the program again! I have a new leader for the meetings again and she is great! I still miss our original one, Trish, but she is happy with her new job I'm sure.

Potty training is still going. We are still having problems with the poo-poo on the potty, but I'm sure we will get that under control before we go to Cobourg in a couple weeks.

We have the babysitter booked tonight. We are going to our friends' place tonight to watch Sernity on their 62" TV!!!! We sent them home with the Firefly box set a week ago...They have been staying up til midnight all week watching episodes! They are so hooked! It is going to be hard to watch Wash die again...I so hate/love Joss.

Anyway, have a great weekend!

DUM DUM DUUUUUUUM!!!

Remember Mom and Dad, NO JUDGING!!!

For the rest of my community, my Mom and Dad now have access to the blog. I've not deleted any content, just gave them the warning that this was my diary for the past year so they are not allowed to judge the content or thoughts expressed here.

Potty Training

Yeah...so it's going okay! The boy has not worn diapers, except over night, since Friday night! He does the pee-pee really well. Poo-poo is another issue. He can do it on the potty, he has done it on the potty, he just doesn't want to do it on the potty. SIGH! He will figure it out...or we'll beat it into him...or out of him...whatever! :)

Weigh in tomorrow! Yay. It's now time to face up to how much I have to lose again. I know I gained about 8 pounds over the holidays. Then it's breaking new ground again. Oh well, it's fun having Mom on the program with me. We talk about points and food and stuff on the phone.

BONUS COMES TOMORROW!!! YAAAAAAY!!!! That will be a big chunk put on the credit card! As my loving and long suffering Husband likes to say, "We have to pay for the things we already own before we can buy new stuff!".

Three more weeks until my Sweetie and I are HERE!!!! I love this Bed & Breakfast! I have talked it up to so many people at work, our babysitter's Mom and Dad have just booked in for their anniversary in June!

Sigh, what to do...work out or watch CSI.......I'm off to the treadmill.

Blog ya later!

Kay

HOLY COW!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAHH!!! OMG!!!! I just won tickets to Nickelback from the BEAR!!! Caller number 9, Baby! Marshy at work had been trying to call in for the past week and I had been teasing her that if she won while she was at work she had to take me. So this afternoon the time to call happened and she bugged me to call in as well. Well don’t I get a spot in the queue and friggin’ Scott Lear picked up! When he told me I was caller #9 I said, “YOU’RE FUCKIN’ KIDDING ME, REALLY???”. They played it on the air without bleeping me out! TOO FUNNY!!! ‘Cause Marshy bugged me to call in, I’m taking her instead of J. Don’t worry, he understands!

Y-A-W-N!!!!!

HOLY CARP! Yes, I do mean the fish, not the excrement! I am TIRED! I have just had a fun-filled evening with toilet training of the Boy. We finally decided to just take the diapers away and deal with all leaks with repeated trips to the bathroom. He is THREE for cryin’ out loud! It’s time he learned. No worries about the furniture. I have bagged all couch cushions, bought a big sheet of plastic for the recliner, and I ask the kid every ten minutes if he has to pee-pee. I won tonight! The score was three on the potty and two on the floor.

I am SO proud of my Mommy! After nearly a year of nagging, pushing, and pleading, my Mom went to her first Weight Watchers meeting last night! YAY MOM!!!! I think it’s going to be a rude awakening to start portion controlling, but it is a life style change that is going to prolong her life. I was so inspired by her after talking to her that I immediately got on the treadmill to work out. Did I mention that I took a month off of plan and gained about 8 lbs? It was a FUN holiday, but I'm ready to get back to having some control.

So, after I do my post about how I’m not going to do much posting, my public gets two in one day. Just so you all know what my husband has know for years:

I’M A LIAR! :)

Blog ya later!

Kay

Merry Blergmas Part Two

You are not going to believe this one! So I get the car into the dealership to get an oil change and a “peace of mind” inspection done. HOLY GOD! $1430 later and I have my shitbox Neon back. To make it all worse they gave me a new Jeep Grand Cherokee to drive over night! I mean COME ON! Why did you have to torture me by giving me the Neon back!!!

Happy New Year!

So we made it through the holidays once more. The drive down was horrible, the family time great, the boy getting his air hockey table awesome! New years was quiet and nice with Mom and Dad up here. We played about 5 games of sequence and then went to bed.

I so wish I could blog more. I'm losing my desire to maintain this site. J has our family blog under control and it gets more pictures up. I'm not going to disappear or anything. Am just not going to update as often. Anyway, will see how I do over the next month.

So....tired...

Stayed up too late washing and irradicating the bugs. We've called my mom and told her we won't be coming up until early on Saturday morning. I just can't face getting the house ready and the bags packed in time for going to bed, going to work and then immediately hopping in the car. Will get some sleep and be ready to celebrate with family. Dad and J have a trip planned to their favourite restaurant supply store in Peterborough. New pans for my Honey! I'm just going to be happy that I will see my nephew/brother/sister-in-law.

Anyway, don't know if I will be blogging again before the holiday black-out...my parents only have dial-up, you wouldn't be sick enough to expect me to deal with that!?! Happy holidays to you all!

*Scratch, scratch, scratch*

I'm in hell. I got a call from my daycare provider at about 2:15pm. The Boy has HEAD LICE! I want to shrivel up in a ball of shame. I know we keep our house clean, and I know that we bathe the boy regularly, therefore our heads should be free of bugs. NOPE!!! Damn it all to hell. Right before we go away for the holiday too. Do you think this could have happned before the biggest picture taking event of the year besides the boy's birthday!?! Nope.

Right after I got the Boy home from daycare he was asleep in the car seat. I took the opportunity to search his head myself. Damned if I didn't find 2 little black bugs. Squished them between my fingers. They had been feeding on my sons little head because I got some lovely bloody spurts. Anyway, he woke up at that point so I dragged him and and gave him to J so I could go to the drug store and buy the de-lice-er shampoo. The next hour after that was my son transforming into satan embodied as we shaved his little head, stripped him and I down, got us in the tub where I held him still while J rubbed the shampoo into him. The stuff has to stay on for 10 minutes so I kept him as still as possible. About halfway through he just gave up and rested his head on my shoulder, saying in a sad little voice, "Mommy, out!". We rinsed him off and then the joy of having my husband check me for bugs. Am all clear thank you.

I'm now in the hell of vacuuming, washing or tumbling in the drying anything that could have been in contact with my sons head. I'm about half way through my evening and I have a container of Caramel Cone Explosion Haagen Daz waiting for me when I'm done. Who says ice cream can't make the world better...

Ciao for now.

Snowsnowsnowsnow...

Friday was a fun drive! After getting up a half hour early, going outside into the thigh deep snow outside my door, then nearly giving myself a coronary shovelling out the driveway, I put-putted down my lane and off to work. This pissed my neighbor off considerable since he had tried to get out of his driveway 20 minutes before I left and was still stuck in the road after I plowed away!!! J giggled his ass off watching him in his pick up, watch me drive away! I LOVE my Neon! This is the picture of me stuck in front of my daycare provider's house. We got about 30 feet from the door before the car wouldn't go any further, so I said the hell with it. I loaded the boy over my shoulder like a sack of stinky potatos and waded to the door. Funnily enough she thought that I was stuck for good and called her boys out to shovel me out. I hit the pedal, reefed the wheel back and forth several times and made it to my original tracks and got out! The snow was so deep on the roads it was shearing over the hood and up my windsheild and I still got to work!

The weekend was fine. Saturday night we were all supposed to go to an open house in the Market, but J had a massive nose bleed about 45 mintues before we were leaving. He was bleeding so badly I was about to get the car to take him to the hospital, but it tapered off. There was so much blood in his sinuses it was leaking out the other nostril! Say it with me now...EEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! Anyway, I insisted J and the boy stay home...so off I went for a lovely evening with Mel and Maria and their friends. It's Mel and I on the couch and Pat working the camera. By the way, that's not tea in that mug! Can't have him looking like the innocent out of the two pics! :)

Sunday, was lying around the house recovering from Saturday night. Did some baking with the boy, see the family blog for those of you who know where it is, and lots of laundry.

4 days until we leave for my Mom and Dad's for Xmas! Can't wait to see the boy's face when he sees the air hockey table!!!

Happy Holidays!

Doo dee doo dee dooooo...

Yeah, so there hasn't been that much going on since the car thing. Am back at work, J is feeling better, the boy is back at daycare.

It's colder then heck out here. I have discovered why the windows in my house need replacing. Friggin' cold is seeping in everywhere. Other then that I love my house. It's nice to have a wee yard to do snow angels, a wee hill in the front to slide down on the saucer.

Christmas is coming. I'm having all sorts of revelations about the holiday that celebrates how much credit you can burn for presents. I like the holiday...but am not so hot on the whole Jesus stuff. I was listening to my Nat King Cole carole CD and thought to myself, "Wow, is there ever alot about Christ in these songs!", and then I remembered the whole point about why the day was created. I mean how disconnnected from all that is spiritual do I have to be for me to forget that Xmas is J.C.'s B-day!?! It's making me think alot about what I'm going to teach the boy when he is older. Does that mean that I have come to any decisions? NO! Just makes me sure that I don't want to raise him in the church. But, I don't want to raise him ignorant about the other religions there are out there. I LOVE the word floating around now, "CHRISMAKKAH"!

Anyway, so tired. Must go to bed and sleep tonight. J and I stayed up late fighting and playing so I was exhausted today. Who knew pinchy fights could be so fun!

Peace out, yo Mamma, and all that jazz,

Kay

We wish you a merry BLERGmas...

I thought I was having a really great day. I got up this morning and got the boy dressed and sent him out the door to daycare with Daddy. Daddy had an eye appointment so I got to stay home instead of driving the boy in and then driving back home to dive into bed to get better. Surprisingly, I didn’t go back to bed today. I got the disgusting kitchen sparkling, vacummed and mopped the whole house, tidied the whole house, and did four loads of laundry. This is on top of shoveling the driveway after J and the boy left. I’m feeling much better then yesterday except for the fact that I’m having issues catching my breath. I’ll be mid sentence and have to stop and take a couple deep breaths to chase away the “Dizzies”. ANYWAY, Marshy and I had to go to Toy’s R Us tonight to pick up some Thomas the Tank engine stuff for our boys for Xmas so we set off at about 4:30. We got to the St. Laurent Shopping Center and got to it. We walked out the doors at about 7:30…to find that the battery in the car was DEAD. Bless CAA and their wonderful service, they had a guy to the car in 20 minutes. He gave my car a boost so off Marshy and I went to the Canadian Tire in Kanata to get a new battery. Turns out that not only is my battery dead, so is the alternator and we are stuck in Kanata with no way home. Luckily one of the mechanics took customer service to the next level and drove Marshy and I home. Marshy will drive us back in tomorrow to pick up the fixed Neon and to pay the $450 bill. BLERG! Merry #%*@! Christmas! Why do these things happen at inopportune times?

Oh well, the only thing that I’m truly thankful about is that it happened to Marshy and I and not when it was the boy and I on our way into work.

Ciao for now,

Kay

Still Schick...

I have lost most of this week due to a nasty cold that turned into a sinus/chest infection. I went to the clinic this morning and got myself a perscription so I should be on the mend by Saturday. J and The Boy are both feeling mostly like normal.

I'm having such a sweet craving right now! J has promised me chocolate chip brownies to help me out. YAY!!! My Sweetie is well again so he is cooking again!!!

Anyway, must go back to bed.

We're Schick! :(

So this past week has been hell. Monkey was diagnosed with Bronchitus on Tuesday and was home ever since. I had to take two days off because J was sick with his "cold" so badly he wasn't up to taking care of the boy. He had him for 1 and a half days after that before I had to come home Friday afternoon to take care of them again. I tried to get the giant butthead to the Dr. on Thursday night but the place was packed. I didn't want to spend upwards of two hours sitting so we went home. I finally kicked him out of bed and into the car on Saturday morning. Shock of shocks...he has bronchitus too. And here is the best part. I'm starting to get sick now too. ARG! My ears are all under pressure and the nose is running with a tickly throat. *SIGH*

The only good news it that The Boy has been on his antibiotics since Tuesday so he is more the on the mend. He will be at daycare on Monday so I won't have to come home to take care of everyone again. Whether or not I'm going to have to come home because I'm sick is going to be another story.

We all went to see the CPR Holiday Train last night! Pretty fun for The Boy. BIG CHOO CHOO!!!! The Moffats' sucked balls, and Wayne Rondstadt sang "Christmas in the Valley". All in all not the brightest thing to do to J, considering he had just been taking his perscription since that morning....Oh well! :) At least we all went out as a family and did one of the Christmas things that was on this weekend.

I had a massage booked yesterday that rocked my world! FULL BODY RUB DOWN!!! Felt OH SO GOOD! :)

Anyway, must go. The boy is screaming to use the computer to play Elmo.

Ciao for now!

You are an elf. An elf is like a

usually tall, with pointed ears, and resemble
humans very closely, but elves are usually much
more beautiful. Elves are a distant race. They
prefer to keep to themselves, because often,
many of them feel that their race is superior
to humans. Elves symbolize wisdom, prudence,
love, and hope. They are very merry and happy.
They are forever young and delight in music.
They are natural artists as well.

Update galore!

Okay, quite a bit has happened in the last couple of weeks, which is why I haven’t been posting, too busy to sit down. Here goes:

The Boy had his birthday last weekend. Small party with my Mom, Dad, Aunt Peg, and Kate that was great! Made a cake, had the presents, and the best part was we did it at lunch time so just did sandwiches and salad. Very simple and the boy had a blast.

The boy and my J are both sick. I had to take two days off to take care of the boy with bronchitis because J was too sick himself to take care of him and work at the same time. I took our monster to his Dr. on Tuesday, got his prescription, have him on his puffer twice a day, and motrin for his fever. Anyway, he is back to eating today so I’m guessing he is on the mend. J on the other hand is going to the Dr. tonight if I have to hog tie him and throw him out of a moving vehicle in front of the emergency room.

I have a massage booked at The Spa on Saturday. I checked my insurance and I have something like $200 left to be used up by the end of December for Massage Therapy. I’m going to be one relaxed Mommy!

We picked up an air hockey table for the boy for Xmas! His eyes are going to pop out of his head! He played with one while he was in NB so we figured it would be a great “WOW factor” present.

I went to Lone Star’s last night with the Boy’s daycare provider and all the other Moms that have children with her. Lots of fun and salsa was had by all.

We are going to be going to Mom and Dad’s for Xmas. Can’t wait to see My brother’s little boy!

Anyway, ciao for now.

Venti Chai Eggnog Latte

OH MY GOD!!! I miss Angerah! I was having such an “I miss you” moment, MyFriendAngerah. I went to Starbucks today and got an Eggnog CHAI Latte! Soooo kicked my ass. Then as I was walking toward my car, it’s snowing on me and it made me think of the first time I had chai, with Angerah, during my vacation in New Brunswick. I miss my friend. :(

Anyway, the mental health day really helped. I stayed in my Pj’s until about 9:30, played a game of Age of Mythology, and pretty much acted like a slug. I had a shower, cleaned up the kitchen, got to the DMV and updated my address on my licence, went onto Main St. Almonte and shopped. Came home, made a poison sandwich for J (He is half ill and I didn’t know it so the hot peppers and horseradish gave him much pain.), went into Wal-mart and got myself new earrings, took the car to Mr. Lube for an oil change, picked up computer parts for J, picked up my kid and went home. It’s really snowing hard here so I had a blast showing the Boy how to use the crazy carpet on our hill!

Must go eat some dinner. I’m going to go to the library tonight and get my card set up. I’ve lived here for 4 years and still don’t have a library card here.

Ciao for now.

I miss the sun...

I have been feeling so depressed the past two days. It's like an extra 20 pounds was added to a bag across my shoulders, I look in the mirror and I see the 20 on my hips, I try to get work done and the effort is so immense...I just want to go to bed for a week. I'm taking Thursday off work to have a recharge day. Am going to hang around in my PJ's and watch movies in the recliner. No cleaning, no laundry...well...maybe a little laundry. ANYWAY, it's going to be a day to just chill in my house. Mornings have been a bitch. I've been running late both mornings now, J is annoyed at me 'cause then I force him out of bed early to help me get the boy ready to go, I get to work feeling totally stressed before I even start dealing with customers. BLARG!!!!

I'm guessing everyone feels like this during daylight savings time. The lack of sunlight draining all ambition to do anything from your body.

Ever since J discovered his foodie blog he has been unstoppable. I've been getting amazing meals every night whether I want them or not! LOVE IT!!! I got an amazing soup for dinner. Scrum-diddly-umtious!

Must go. Am going to tuck myself either into bed or my hobbyroom chair. Time for some me time.

Blog ya later!

FAB Weekend!

What a great weekend! T&L came up for the weekend. J took the opportunity to “Chef-it-up” the entire time. He had snacks ready when they arrived, gourmet breakfast lunch and dinner. He is blogging now with me at: http://jasonpollock.net/blog

His is just for showing his foodie leanings. Lots of pictures of what he makes, most of them pics he took, some stolen from the net.

L and I went shopping for about 5 hours on Saturday. We both got outfits for our company parties and L even got a major deal on her stuff. T stayed home with J and the boy. A lot of Xbox happened and playing with our monster.

This week is going to go by quickly. J and I have a babysitter booked for Saturday night and my company’s Xmas party. I have a pretty new dress, a hair appointment, and my Sweetie is going to be wearing a suit and tie!!! HOLY COW! We are going to get a few dances in too!!! YIPPEE!!!!! I love nights out with my Sweetie!

Ciao for now!

YAY ME!!!!

I lost 1.5 lbs this week! I missed getting my 40 lbs lost star by half a pound. Oh well, will get it next week. My weight is now officially in the 140’s. LOVE IT!

I lost last night completely. I was drugged again for when they put the new bridge in my mouth. I got home, stripped down, fell into bed and was out for 12 hours. I feel VERY good today! Anyway, must go and get ready for T&L who are coming up for the weekend. Should be fun!

WAAAAAAH!!!!! :(

I just got off the treadmill. My knee just blew, or popped, or tore, or it just hurts! STUPID! I shouldn't have run tonight. It would be my third night in a row and I have not been doing that much all at once in a while. I should have worked up to it gradually and now that I ignored my common sense I'm going to be stuck just walking. CRAP!!! I want to get my 40 lbs lost star this week! :(

Anyway, will let you know how I do at weigh in on Friday.

1, 2, 3, 4....

MAJOR breakthrough this evening with the boy! He has this thing about counting. He will touch each part of the picture and very seriously say, "Two, nine, two, nine..." and so on. Tonight I got him to say, "On, two, free, oh-ah"!!! YAAAAY! I taught my baby math...God help him.

Did anyone else watch Gray's Anatomy tonight? ROCKED!!! I don't know why but I'm rooting for Alex to pass his test now. They are so going to leave it as a season finale cliff hanger, but I'm still hooked.

J is sick...and grumpy...but still my handsome Sweetie! :) I love you even though you are Grum-Blor right now Honey! :D I'm going to go make you a cup of tea to make you feel better now.

Good night my public...all three of you!

Halloween and Meringues...

This is my monkey at Halloween! He did great, was pulling on my hand and saying, "Mommy, AIGHT!" to get me to rush to the next house with lights. He knew those were the houses with the candy. We got the cool knight costume from Wal-mart for $14! I am such a Walmart mom!

I can bake, I can bake, I can bake, I can bake, I can bake, I CAN BAKE *Dora the explorer, "The Map Song"*

I had a success after the third attempt at making meringues. They are weight watcher friendly but a real pain to make. The bowl and beaters go in the freezer, the egg whites have to be room temperature, you add the sugar one tablespoon at a time...its hard, but I did it!!! The batch I made I added cocoa powder and almond extract, yummy!

This weekend has been going great. J and I had a snuggle last night in front of a basketball game, I went down to the market today with KC to approve Kenny's engagement ring, got a new Eddie Bauer shirt that was on major clearance sale for $11, and now my Sweetie is in the next room making homemade spaghetti sauce for dinner! I also cleaned the house this morning and got two loads of laundry done. I ROCK!!! Tomorrow there is going to be a ton of loafing and playing with the boy. Acutally we had a good time this afternoon with him. We took him to the park and let him run around on the slides and jungle gym. He is now saying new words everyday. The latest include, "bumble bee", *"pick", "vroom", and "milk".

Anyway, gotta go fold some of the aforementioned laundry.

Caio for now!

Kay

* "Pick" comes from every time he goes pee-pee on the potty he gets to "pick" a piece of candy from his Halloween stash. He has been driving J and I batshit by peeing every ten minutes and acting like its the best day of his life then expecting candy. We have had to deny him a couple time due to lack of quantity. Three drops doth not merit reward! :)

YAY ME!!!!

I weighed in today. LOST 3 POUNDS!!! Am at my lowest yet at 38 lbs gone! WOOT!!! I’m starting to get serious about getting to my goal weight before my year anniversary of joining weight watchers. It’s within my grasp! BWA HA HA HA!!!!

14 to go....

DOO dee DOO dee DOO!!!

Another week has come and gone. I have had a few bumps in the road. I lost yesterday completely. I was sedated for my dentist appointment to keep me calm while they froze me up. This of course meant that I dozed in the car on the way home, J had to drive me, and then didn’t wake up until dinner time. I still feel like crap today.

We are having some success with potty training the boy! After I was at work I got a message from J telling me that The Boy had come running in to the office shouting, “PEE PEE DADDY!!! PEE PEE!!!”. He grabbed J by the hand and took him to the bathroom to show him that he had stripped down and gone on his own in the potty! SO PROUD OF HIM!!! Of course he has the incentive that he gets a piece of Halloween candy every time he does it.

Halloween was really fun! The Boy was a medieval knight! Complete with chain mail hood and coat of arms! He really got into trick or treating this year. He was pulling on my hand trying to get me to faster to the next house. Can’t wait for next year!

Anyway, this should be a calm weekend. Nobody coming over, no plans to be had.

Ho Hum...

So I'm totally falling behind on posting. J totally predicted this, that the novelty would wear off and this would become ignored. It's not that I don't like posting. I enjoy it, it stretches my writing skills, it keeps people in the loop with what is going on with our life, *sigh*, life is just getting too busy.

So to update. Our house is now complete for the winter! We had the electrician in to finish off all the work in the attic and on the box in the basement. All outlets are now working, all heaters are working and the ceiling fans in all the bedrooms are working. The cool thing is he fixed something we didn't even mention to him! We have a small problem where our fuse box is only 125 when it should be 225…I think the term is Amp or Watts or something. (I is S-M-R-T!!!) When we would run the dishwasher at the same time that the downstairs entertainment unit was on, AND the basement dehumidifier was on it would blow the fuse. After the electrician left it all works fine! LOVE IT! Anyway, we also had the heating guys in to clean and inspect the two gas fireplaces. Everything was fine with them except for the fact that they are about 20 years old. The downstairs one had some fried wiring, but that was easily replaced. J got the last major coat on the kitchen last weekend! It’s now very pretty…except when we took off all the tape it hurt some of the edges. Oh well. He’ll go around with a wee brush and do some touch ups. I think J is going to go around tonight and touch up the ceiling where we did some “opps” when we were painting.

And what are You doing, K, is what I’m sure you are thinking. I’m going to be catching up on the laundry that piled up last week. Want to know why the laundry piled up? The dryer broke last Monday and didn’t get fixed until two days ago. I had to do a couple loads through the dryers at the Laundromat last Saturday. I was up and out of the house by 7:30am and back home with everything dry by 8:30. The boy came in and woke up J with a tap on his forehead. J rolled over and said, “Where’s Mommy?”. The boy didn’t know but then J remembered where I had to go that morning. I came home and cleaned the house, then pretty much put myself to bed. I have had a bit of a sinus cold all week. The boy got it first and then passed it on to me.

I’m hoping to cut my lawn this weekend for the last time. It ran out of gas…surprisingly while we were in NB??? Dad told me that the tank should last me the rest of the summer yet it was empty when we got back home. Oh well, J bought me a little gas can for filling up the mower. I also have the spray the crap out of my yard. It is 90% weeds. I would get on my knees and rip them all out but then I would be left with soil.

The only bright spot right now is my Mom is coming up this weekend to visit! The boy has been asking all week about Nana. J already has the roast in the crock pot, we’re eatin’ good tonight!

Blog ya later!

The hand is much better...

So I got the anticipated "GRR" from my loving hubby. But since he hadn't read it until it had already been up for two days he figured I might as well leave it up. :)

Anyway, the vacation, LOVED IT! The boy was great in the car. He entertained himself, played with the provided toys, napped and was generally in a happy mood right until we were actually in Fredericton. It knocked us on our ass, so we took him to Walmart and spoiled him a little with some toys to thank him. M & K & E are great! We stayed at their place with them. The baby is the cutest thing I have ever seen and is the crying-only-when-hungry type. Big blue eyes and looks just like her daddy with bits of her mommy thrown in. M & K has been building a new house about three lots down from their current one which is next door to K’s parents. GORGEOUS!!! I’m so totally jealous of them getting a new house, of all the loving details that M and his dad have been putting into it. The closets are works of art! Anyway, they should be all moved in and happy with in the next month.

We got to see all of J’s family a couple times each. There was a huge family Thanksgiving dinner on the Monday afternoon. Everyone loved the boy and I can see that J was having a great time interacting with his peeps. I even relaxed enough with the boy to drop him off with my mother-in-law for the day to give him some time with his “Nana” and give me a day off.

The first night we were in Fredericton we got to go hang out with ANGERAH and her ‘rents. They are the best kind of people. I mean, even when my kid’s diaper leaked on their floor and was found by Angerah’s dad in his sock feet, they totally didn’t point and laugh! :D I was totally embarrassed, but I guess it’s like when you bring your new puppy over and he piddles on the floor. Anyway, the boy was great otherwise. He ate a big dinner and was generally cute. Mrs. Angerah made this awesome dessert made from phyllo pastry, pumpkin, and cream cheese…*DROOL* I so totally love them bunches! They took me in for a week of vacation back in April before I started the blog. I had an awesome time and felt like a real part of the family. Can’t wait to see them all again when we go back in the summer.

Anyway, not to say that K is not the best baker I know! When we pulled in the driveway she had this awesome stuff that was crackers covered in butter, chocolate, and nuts. SO addictive! Also there was the two different kinds of cheesecake and random cooking she did while we were with them. Needless to say I gained two pounds over my vacation.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t much of a vacation for J. He had to work the entire time. It was the only way we were going to swing leaving town after buying the house. We went out most evenings to see friends of his from days gone by. R & B were great, old friends of J’s from Art College. We went and saw their new house and the boy was introduced to air hockey. He has major talent with it! He scored on J once!

Anyway, to wrap it up, vacation equals good. I have been running on the treadmill every night since we got home. I've lost the two pounds I gained plus two more besides. One more to go and I’m back to where I started and will start making progress on losing the last 15.

Good night to my Public! :D

Keep your shirt on Teddy...

I'm typing through the extreme pain I'm feeling only 'cause I love you teddy! I horribly injured my hand doing...hmm...let's just say that only my husband knows how. Anyway, typing hurts, holding it hurts, breathing hurts it. I don't get that one...it's sort of like my pulse is going through my hand and causing pain. Anyway, I don't want this post to start sounding like "Given Eyes to See" from a link in Wyrd's blog so I'll leave it at that. I'm hoping to do the massive post this weekend when the owie is gone.

Bye for now,

ps - I give it exactly one hour from posting before J forces me to take this post down so read this while you can! :D

Tick Tock...

Going on vacation in three days! Can’t wait! We are going to New Brunswick to see J’s family and the many friends we have there. I know we’re going to be doing the Farmer’s Market with ANGERAH tm!!! Can’t wait to see her!

Work is going okay this week. It still has it’s stressful times now that we are two instead of four, but I think we are starting to get the hang of it. The office finally has been cleaned up with the extra desks and offices taken down and away.

The boy is wonderful! He is finally figuring out this whole talking thing! I’ve heard him say “Puh pul how” for Purple House, “Take” for cake, and “Fwy” for Fly. It’s soo much fun!!!

Anyway, will blog when I’m down there more then likely.

Buh Bye!
